I like how practicing "puh" feels...it seems to be engaging some of the more subtle muscles in my upper lip while relaxing the lower. I think I'm doing it right. Also, I like the philosophy on the breathing and core..stable but not forced..like Jedi.. our power does not come from forcing things! 🏄

When I play a song The begging is super crisp and sounds really good but after a few lines my tone starts to get airy/fluffy especially on low notes - I’ve tried to roll in and roll out. Any tips?

If your sound gets fluffy towards the end try rolling out every time you take a breath. Also remember to keep your chin up. And push your right hand forward.

hi! i’m self teaching the flute... my family all say i can’t do it but i kind of want to prove them wrong. i don’t need to get into bands or orchestras, just play nicely for myself at home. this video was SO helpful (and i’m omw to watch the others) but i have 2 main problems: -my hands hurt??? after playing for like one minute, it makes me so frustrated. i don’t think the muscles in my hands are weak, i paint a lot and i do rock climbing but the sides and my index fingers always cramp up really bad under the weight of the flute. -i have a really clear, good and loud sound playing do - si - la - sol (the notes right in the middle of the pentagram idk what letters they are equal to)... but AS SOON as i move into a higher register (aka 2 notes higher, the struggle starts at the higher mi) it gets as airy as a fart and the sound is really weak. the mouth position is obviously the same as when i play a strong ass si, and i don’t think i’m changing my posture. do i need to breathe like a lot stronger? because when i do that, i happen to start the note with a shrill sound from another octave higher but then i go back down to airy and weak. -edit: OH and another huge one is i cannot for the love of jesus & the saints bring out the lowest do (below the pentagram) and i’ve tried everything. i struggle with re, but i managed to get the sound out a few times. i’ve never managed do tho

I recently just started playing and I cant tell if I have an airy sound or I am just hearing myself blow ;-; or if my flute just has a slow reaction time, Its a new pearl 665 quants vigore tho.

Hey all, I have a question... so I've been playing the flute for months but i still can't get a clear tone I have prognathism btw (it's where the anatomy of the lower jaw is longer than the upper jaw - google it so u can have a better picture) could that be the reason of why my tone is always airy though?? Anyone might have any suggestion? I'm getting frustrated xD
