I bought a car from a dealership 3 months ago, I found out today that the financial manager put void instead of amended, but the tag says it goes with the car. so the DMV says I've been driving illegally all this time even though my registration says my name, tag, and vin number matches. if you have a spouse, or partner, and your both co-owners "both names are on the title." with no clause, but dmv registered it with an and clause. will this work to reclaim the title if they ran away, and your partner refused to sign the title to you after agreeing written, or verbal they forfeited the car? I tried to get a replacement " lost title" as they stole the title when they left. I've reach out for years, but now they will not respond. so the is not in my possession "the car is though. ,but the car is nearly for 3 years now. im from new mexico, but despite legally new mexico law does not require the co-owner to sign, or be present in the reclamation of a title they refused me, because i did not have their signature,and id "acted as they were still needed" due to the registration clause. is there a better method to go about reclaiming this title? Interesting that you chose Pennsylvania. A few years I go we went and got a car the type of which my wife had always wanted. Well I didn't know what was driving me to make the phone call. I called the license bureau DMV of the State office. First I called a couple of the satellite offices for the state. The first one I trust immensely. Now she told me they're all you need do is have him sign the title and send it with you. She has a place to notarize it then notarize it. She said why do you ask? I go I'm not sure I just got this feeling in my stomach. She said what state and I told her Pennsylvania she goes wait a minute let me go look and she looked it up. The title had to be notarized bill of sale had to be notarized and some other form. I asked her I said why do you require all this. It seemed a little Saundra to voice and said hey you've done this you know the deal on it. Yes I bought a lot of cars over the years and sold a few as well. The one thing above All that I have learned is to call first and find out. Especially if it's something I've never done before or have dealt with in sometime. So Pennsylvania must have lice. Things going on with their titles at that time. I called another regional office and they said the same thing I got what I was told by another office I needed to have it notarized would you please look it up. She looked it up and she came back with their right I don't know why but you have to from Pennsylvania. But given the same circumstances I wouldn't have to and other states. TODAY I FOUND OUT MY BROTHER TRICKED MY MOM INTO PUTTING HER NAME ON HIS CAR TITLE, HER NAME IS 1ST also. She has not drove in over 10 years and will never drive again. He's a scam artist. Moms is going to a nursing home and he has been laying low and living his life. Any advice ANYBODY
