In the UK, this is called deep frying. 'Frying' just means cooking something in a frying pan with a little bit of oil (no submerging).
@SmyPonies5 жыл бұрын
What? I thought it was the same in the USA! (I live in the US)
@talamuffy30945 жыл бұрын
Well I think it’s the same in the US I mean at least ik it as deep frying. They’re probably to lazy to say deep fry lol.
@artypyrec41865 жыл бұрын
It's the same in US, kind of. The majority of the US doesnt know that these are two different methods unless your in food service or a personal cook, so it was generally shortened to just 'frying'.

I'm in the U.S., and I'd say this was deep frying. I use the term 'pan frying' for frying in a pan with a little bit of oil. Avoids confusion.

For those who commonly mistake the person behind these voices, the person narrating this particular video is Claire. Now, in general Tasty 101 videos are voiced by Alexis and Claire. They don't introduce themselves in the beginning, but sometimes you might see a short clip of them in the video. You just gotta know the difference between their voices to know whether it's Claire or Alexis voicing that particular 101 video.

You shouldn't salt the french fries after the first fry, because when you put them back into the oil, it all dissolves. This isn't a big deal when you're cooking at home because you'll more than likely throw out the oil anyway, but if you're doing this in bulk -- such as in a restaurant -- that salt that gets into your hot frier will degrade the oil more quickly, meaning you'll have to swap it out earlier. Salt should never get in your fryers if you can help it.

As a former manager at TGI Fridays I can attest to the fry method for French fries . We slammed our potatoes and put them in 55 gal sanitized trash cans in a ice bath overnight in the walk in . Next day air dried and double fried like stated here although our initial fry temp was 275 degrees - absolutely delicious Now they use frozen fries if I'm not mistaken

Welcome to the Now Its not the buttermilk,it's the hot pepper and the paprika.I allways put a small amt. of paprika in the flour it makes the skin brown better but don't put to much or you can't tell if the chicken is done,and do put salt and pepper in the buttermilk and flour.
