Well, 3 years ago now, but your video is still helping novices like me. I wouldn't have attempted this without your help. Your plain terms were easy to understand. Can't say enough about Quantum pump either. Everything was as advertised. Wife or gf telling you the battery was about to die was priceless, along with her background music". Thank you so much!

Great video! Is this the same for er6f 2010? To ground the pump without taking it out. Where do I ground on the pump? I can’t start my bike and the workshop told me it could be the ecu. So to check if the fuel pump was working he told me to take a wire from - battery to - fuel pump and leave + as is. To bypass the ecu.

I found this last night thanks to your comment. I'm not going to cut it open because I fear that I may not get a good seal when I put it back together. I sprayed a whole can of gumoff through it and shook it like a devil, then let it sit filled up with cleaner overnight. It still has black gunk on the filter but its a hell of a lot better than it was and it doesn't have any more rust particles in there.

Are there any forums, (that anyone knows of), that might show where the fuel pump is located,( and how to remove it), on a 2004 Vulcan Classic VN1600 ? I've looked everywhere , and no luck.
@ravenfett1844 жыл бұрын
J. S. It should be on the left side on the bottom of the fuel tank, if your bike is carbureted and not fuel injected it probable doesn't have an actual fuel pump.

@@qualityroofsofgeorgiallc mine worked great but after a hundred miles or so the bike started bogging on acceleration then stopped working again. Pretty sure the problem was rust that was still in after the acid treatment came out of the pitting inside the tank and clogged injectors and not issues from the pump itself. Hi man. I put a brand new quantum fuel pump just weeks ago, the vulcan was runing great but yesterday the problem came again. At idle the bike is stable, but once i pull the throttle over the 3500 rpm's the bike have a big fall of fuel pressure. The pressure tester shows 25 psi at 4000 rpm. So the big question is....do you know in what range should the pressure fluctuate witn the bike running at «high» reps?
@the702medic35 жыл бұрын
Does your bike have a power commander? I found that some of the problem was also a short in the wiring causing the previous tune to lose efficiency.
@revnomad86395 жыл бұрын
@@the702medic3 no man. The bike is stock and was running great until yesterday. The question is ...do you know how many pounds do you lost once you are running at 3500?...should i contact the quantum guys?...at idle it shows 48psi...thanks for your answer man.

The problem is.... There is another filter in the white piece that holds the regulator. I just dealt with this issue myself and was finally able to figure it out
@daviddarnell70175 жыл бұрын
Cut the back half of that section off with a hacksaw. You can see where it is put together. And clean it up with razor knife and the filter will be easily accessible. Pull it out and clean it up. Put it back in and use a small torch to melt it back together. It won't look great, but if your like me, your not spending 400 on a fuel pump if you don't have to. Worked like a champ. Bike hasn't run this well since I bought it 3000 miles ago. I have pics of process. If you need them send me e-mail address and I will gladly send them

Hi everyone! Does anyone knows if this fuel pump worth the money? 'Cause there's a lot more cheap at AliExpress jejeje. I replaced the fuel pump filter following the instructions on the video, but now is really difficult to start and can't stay on idle, I need to push the start button several times to get idle. I must say that in the process I dropped the fuel pump accidentally and I think that is the cause for this issue, so I decided to replace it. What do you guys think?

Great video! My problem is the bike won't turn over and stay running. I've sprayed it with fuel starter, it seems to want to start, runs a few seconds but then dies. My bike is a 2000 Vulcan 1500 fuel injection. I took the tank off, and blew air into each hose and orfice with a compressor. I have no clue what to trouble shoot. Any guidance? Trying to avoid taking it to the shop. Thanks Gem

I changed my fuel pump to Quantum set. I my bike still don't go faster than 90 km\h. I've done everything like in video. After 90 bike goes like he loaded full of indians and cows. Roar, shaking and don't go faster. Can this small filter, i mean in head of pump must me open and clean too? But the only way to get inside of it is cut it in the side. What is inside of this thing?
@josephgutierrez13265 ай бұрын
Could you repair it bro?
@user-fu8gq5xg5u15 ай бұрын
@@josephgutierrez1326 I can't say for sure. It seems to me that the Quantum pumps themselves are crap. I don't know the reason, but they start buzzing after a certain time. And it hums so loudly that you can hear it through the tank while driving. It seems to me that they overheat and wear out and then the traction drops. It's winter now, so I can't check. But I have one more Quantum, which I received under warranty. I'll try it in the spring. If that doesn't work, I'll look for Bosch. Then I will write about the results.. What's your problem? Let's search together

@@user-fu8gq5xg5u1 i see. My bike cant go faster than 7k rpm. I also would like to clean the small filter inside the head pump as you saying. Could you clean that filter? I read that the only way to clean it , is by cutting that cover first.
@josephgutierrez13265 ай бұрын
@@user-fu8gq5xg5u1 My bike is a ZX10R kawasaki, so it should acelerate like an airplane. My problem is that the aceleration and power is ok until the 7000 rpm, above of that the pressure of the pump fall and cant go faster than 120 km/h. I checked the inyectors, air filter, and all is ok. So i decided to change the filter of the fuel pump and the pump, not all with the plastics, just the electrical component. I also bought the Quantum set but my problem continues. Looking for information in internet i found that the whole pump has two filters, one is on the base and is easy to change it, and the other is on the top of the whole pump, right next to the pressure regulator, and this one cant be changed. I guess this could be my problem because i have not cleaned it yet. It is important to say that when i test my pump alone it gives more than 7psi, but the problem appears when i test the complete pump assembled, it gives around 2 psi when i make it acelerated more than 7k rpm, but in idle is ok.

Thanks, very helpful. But a couple questions.....just what is that.....*thing* the white wire is attached to? The wire on mine broke off but i can solder it back. But what is that part it attaches to? I bought and used this kit for my 2006 Vulcan 900 and found it has some wires and a connector which were not used in your video or my own rebuild. And are you sure those filters are identical or interchangeable? Im guessing this kit might be for a couple different bikes, with the V900 not using the "extra" wires and grommets. Opinions? Thanks.
