Very interesting, didn't know you could use normal house plant soil, I use for my seedlings a coconut quar dolomite lime stone mix, get great results, these little guys don't seem too picky about what they start in, looks like yours are doing great!!!!! I like to grow different types of cactus seeds now and then, very rewarding! Great video! Thanks!! From Morris park in the Ozarks have a great night!!!

My thoughts exactly. Who would have thought "normal soil like peat moss will be fine"? I use coco coir (ebay/amazon), too, often mixed with unfragranced cat litter which I get for pennies on the dollar from my local discount store.

I am in awe of your work. True genius. The humidity and temperature of tropics make it nearly impossible for us to grow this cactus without infections. You are great experts. Please tell us more about your fungicide and other disease controls. Will they work for Trichocereus too? It suffers terribly in tropics from, what we call, "Tricho Disease"? So many thanks for your excellent and outstanding work and for sharing it with us. I have had excellent results using your techniques. Respect!

According to the book "Peyote and other psychoactive Cacti", through growing from seed, grafting, grafting pups, one can produce enough material in only 2 years. And grafting is said to become unnecessary once they start producing flowers and seed.

Follow the video instructions for the beginning to keep ideal moisture. After 2-3 weeks open the lid and check if soil dried or mold, fungus appeared. Spray and clean the soil if necessary.

Hey, I have one question pertaining to your water mixture. Is that specific to peyotes or do you use that for most of your cacti seeds? I typically haven’t added anything to the water for my cacti seedlings so I was curious.

This is a copy paste from Precious Cactus a couple of comments above this one "You need to keep moisture really high at least for the 1st year. In case of mold, change the soil and bring they back to their initial high humidity environment."

Nope. Have to be sealed to keep the highest humidity level inside. Just open it when it's too dry and spray some water again.

usually one to two weeks depending on the size of the babies. Try to slowly adjust.

Hi hope all is well. I have seedlings that are 4 months old. A week ago as I gradually dried out the plants I found that a lot of them toppled over. The roots are exposed but they haven't died. Should I put them right side up again or should I leave them alone? The ones that fell were on the edge of the cup and probably fell over as the soil dried. Not sure if I should do anything or leave it alone.

They will recover slowly.

Then we will change their pot alter yes but it's take time so no problem. Like 2 to 3 years before change from the germination kit to something else.

How long do you leave the lid on the cup? I followed your instructions but around 4 weeks the plants all began turning a darker color, I fear they are dying.

Hi sir, You can open and spray again if your soil it is too dry. Also to protect the babies at the begening you need to add a small shade on the lid for a while until they recover their green color or adjust your light. It must be too strong for them if they turn dark color.

When im growing under white growing light should i ever turn the light off or it should be on for 2 weeks or more straight?

For the babies totally not. The light should be on like normal sun light period but you must cover them with a little shade else they will burn. Then after a while like one month(you will see if their size is like 5mm ) then you can let them see the growing light full day. Adjust it if needed because some varieties likes only few hours a day.

I have received seeds and a germination kit recently and was told that they would be shipping out live plants soon but I have not heard anything regarding the order I placed with them. The germination kit and seeds worked great and only 10 days my seeds sprouted and are doing great so I believe this is a reliable company but due to shipping issues and COVID-19 they may be having some difficulty getting product out quickly, I’ve always had good rapport with the owner so I would definitely say that they’ve given their best in getting the product to the consumer.

It's depend on how and where they grow. If we are talking about mature one with the first bloom it's only about 3 to 5 years in the greenhouse with proper care. In the wild perhaps more like 5 to 10 years yes depending on the weather. The main factor of growth it's how you watering and drainage of your soil. Not all the cactus will react the same way of course and it can happen that some lophophoras varieties will be slower than other to get mature. We are planning to do a video about it and explain the peyote growth.

Slow step by step does not address many questions like: when to add water, when to add more sun, when to transplant, heat requirements, length of time until full grown, etc etc....I still have no clue and will have to send emails and watch other videos, all because you chose to not speak in the video 😕
