From this episode forward, I will be working on the three things Adam brought up, squat deep, lift arms above you head and rotational movements. Being 43, I'm starting to loose them and i would love to stay young or at least delay turning into my dad

I HAVE A PROBLEM!!!!! I can't stop watching your shows and have been binge watching your content nearly everyday for the last 6 months and I can't stop. Your information around diet/ metabolism & minimzing cardio has helped me out so much and now I can eat like a normal adult male amount of calories. I've even gone into a small surplus too add some size, which I've never done previously for fear of gaining fat. Thank you soo much i wouldn't have been able to do it without you guys!!!!! Also HI TB and Adam has bigger arms than Sal hahahaha :):):)

Old Lady Here. Trying my hardest to be healthy on a budget. Lost 70 lbs so far. The muscle building is harder than the weight lose. At least for me. Watching you guys religiously to learn how. My squat is not ass-to-grass yet but I’m working on it. 🥺

I recently started helping out to coach an under 10s soccer team and I can not begin to tell you how rewarding it is. The feeling of helping them, the respect I get from the players, the appreciation I get from the parents, and the structure it adds to my week, especially on weekends (Sunday league means no Saturday night debauchery). I suffer from my mental health pretty chronic, but being able to do this has shown me that I can be capable, and added an immense amount of purpose.

I started map symmetry yesterday. A few years ago I had abdominal surgery due to tumors. Luckily it was not cancer, but it made me lose all the drive to exercise, since my body was split in 2 from one side of the abdomen to the other. It took me a long time to make peace with losing all the progress that I had until then and I had to wait over a year to start from zero. I was barely a few months in when the pandemic started, and of course, all that isolation did nothing for my health. Still, I did not know I was doing so poorly until I started Symmetry. I tried Anabolics and of course it was not for me because of all the imbalances that I have. Symmetry is the most humbling program I have ever tried. It is true, when you don't use it, you lose it.

I was extremely stiff and rigid growing playing only soccer... I've worked on mobility a lot and I am now very flexible. QiGong and Martial arts every day. If you put dedication anything is achievable. I don't know if I need the Prime bundle (probably I would learn a lot) but I'm commenting for the algorithm. I love you guys. Your content has helped me become a better trainer and has opened so many doors for me! You all have such down to earth personalities that really open your listeners minds, so thank you for such awesome content! I'll be a long time listener for your no BS. I really want to hear more about how working out in small sets through the day is as beneficial or more beneficial than going to the gym for 1-3 hours 3-5 days a week.. for busy parents that have jobs an their own businesses it is extremely hard to find time to get to the gym for a few hours.

I was doing some dumbbells bench press today but my heaviest set of weights at my home are 35 pounds. I did a few set didn't really feel like the workout was doing much for me. Then I remembered Adam always talking about the 4-2-2 method as a way to make the weights feel heavier. I did my last 3 sets that way and it totally kicked my ass really felt it in my pecs. I don't remember who said it, but- "Your body is what you do most of the time." This is where I realized how badly I Fk'd up trying to manage my EXTREME neuro-musculoskeletal imbalance by resting: I atrophied into stiffness that made my hypertension and neuropathy worse by trying to take it easy and rest. But I'm working at it. Walking is a very good start when you're as messed up as I have been.

About #1 question, on purpose: Do things make us feel productive and give us a sense of progress and control. Even useless/trivial tasks are good at start. Doing stuff you get inspired, interested. As you learn/do more on any topic, you will became passionate about it. Once you have passions, the purpose dilemma doesn't really matter, or it solves itself. We can't control emotions, and emotions influence our thoughts, but we can control our actions, which influence our emotions. One easy way to find/recognize your passions: Try to recognize (and chase) the FLOW state: It's a state of full immersion in an activity, in which usually we lose track of time (very commonly experienced by athletes, musicians and artists). This happens when we have a FAIR CHALLENGE, with fast feedback. If the activity is too hard, we get anxious. If it's too easy, we get bored (challenge yourself in this case!) Sparring was your example, but certainly you can find other similar situations.

I practiced throwing a ball a lot and now I can't without pain. I just don't think the shoulder and elbow anatomy is made to throwing things really hard often and explosively. I was throwing way harder than my shoulder and elbow were prepared to handle. My rotator cuff pain goes away when I stop throwing for a month. I believe in the "use it or lose it" method, but not with throwing. It's just not a natural movement.

Like running, if you don't do it, you're prone to forgetting how and injuring yourself. Being able to run is an essential insurance for when shit hits the fan, I'd say it's a considerable dysfunction if you can't. Also, I've been over Instagram for a while. I didn't really follow controversial or political pages, but it still just seemed like a waste of time.
