I love how you use a large flatscreen so you don’t need a capture card
@JoystickNY
@JoystickNY 5 жыл бұрын
Sayge honestly this is my poor man’s way of doing it LOL 😂 i m working toward a capture card, but i dont have the money yet, i heard it requires a fast pc and stuff. Someday lol, capture card will be easier for the viewers becuz u guys can see full screen and HD, and u wont see any glares and reflections. 🙏 btw thank you for passing by

No tips, but I'll continue watching and liking any video you make that aligns with content I'm interested in (so basically no Jump Force, haha). I just love the way you present things, it's both elaborate and succinct. And your execution is on point as well. I really hope to see your channel grow, my dude. You're great.
@kevinb5417

Actually, scratch that, here's one tip: Depending on the game you're playing, it *is* worth memorizing frame data in my opinion. A game like UNIST, wherein updates to such mechanics aren't nearly as common - and wherein knowing frame data is extremely important for matchups at a higher level - strongly rewards memorizing the nuances of frame data. I'm not a Street Fighter guy, and I know it's updated often, so I can't speak to that game. But there are undoubtedly games where you should be memorizing the frame data on prolific moves to know how to play around it. Other than that, solid video all around. Keep it up, JSNY!
@JoystickNY
@JoystickNY 5 жыл бұрын
Kevin B i agree, at least know the frame for the main chara, and over time we would just pick up on things and know what can be punish or not, what games do you play btw? And thank you for the support as always
@kevinb5417
@kevinb5417 5 жыл бұрын
@@JoystickNY Primarily DBFZ, and now getting into UNIST pretty heavily. I personally think that the latter is the best fighting game on the market. It's honestly just sublime. Pretty much everything great about fighting games is represented in UNIST wholesale, and if you're able to tolerate - or even enjoy - the very anime aesthetic of the game, I think the reward for time invested exceeds just about any other game ever made. I would strongly recommend it if you haven't played it. It earned that EVO spot.

I've been around since KoF '98 was installed in the local arcade. However, I've never felt the courage to play them seriously until I saw your videos. They are great and I think after seeing your other video I'll get the MayFly 300 and when I'm better I'll move to something more professional so thanks for that. I see you make high quality content and you do your best to make it as minimal as possible so here is something I would really really appreciate and it would allow you to produce helpful videos quickly. Short videos of you doing various combos but the focus is on your hands and also viewers can see the buttons you're pushing just like in-game. Because currently I understand the basic concepts of how to methodically get better and I understand in theory what you're trying to do but I still feel it's too much and a bit overwhelming. However, if I see your hand movement and see on the screen what buttons you're pushing, it gives me the confidence to play something like a rhythm game by mimicking your combos. Another thing, it's very admirable and rare for someone to resist the temptation of using notations while explaining but if you go with this idea I would highly recommend using notations (after releasing a video explaining them of course). Because no matter what, after the very brief period of getting to know the basics, it takes extra two minutes to learn the terminology and then you're on board to watch pros and beginner guides alike. Nonetheless, I absolutely love your channel. I feel like your content is perfectly tailored for someone like me who play games but understand nothing about fighting games specifically.

I love how you sit down with the TV and show yourself, the stick and the game at the same time, it's such a nice change from all the "gameplay + voiceover" videos. Helps me learn! I would recommend actually keeping this style, and instead of a capture card, buy a lapel/vocal mic to use for your vocie over so the room reverb doesnt come out in the video as much. They re cheaper than a capture card, and don't require you to change your setup much.

Hey man I read in the comments about wanting a capture card. If ur using a PS4 u don't need to. U can stream using PS4 to KZfaq and download that video then chop It up in ur editing software. Tbh u don't need it but if u really wanted to. Also there's a streaming thing where u set up ur PS4 to PC and play through a window on PC. But there is lag because it's going through a middle man per say. But yea those are two free options but this is perfectly fine

JoyStickNY yeah I suppose the community when it comes to stick reviews etc can be quite niche which is a shame. Your videos are so high quality and you put a lot of thought and heart into them. Please continue to upload. I am loving samurai shodown atm. Maybe if u try some broader topics it can lead to some more through traffic. But if fighting games are your passion I understand. Keep up the great work!
