This is why I include dancing in my training. Not only does it give you jumping, skipping, unilateral, isometric and plyometric training … but it is enjoyable and rhythmic and incorporates coordination, agility, fluidity and gracefulness … you have to make it look good which means it has to be mindlessly smooth and automatic. I try to include exercises/activities that minimize the need for endless boring therapeutic exercises … for shoulders, knees, hips, back, abs, and every body part … One day sprinting in four directions, climbing and crawling … one day wrestling … one day dancing and the alternate days strength training. Don’t have any pure “specialty” training for any body part, it’s all incorporated into these activities. I actually listed the involvement of each body part and as long as you train full body with at least one compound and lots of variety when you lift, you’re hitting rotator cuff, psoas, and all these areas people create separate training for. Of course once in a while you’ll need to, but a well rounded program, like a well balanced diet should minimize the need to supplement.

One thing I noticed about the reverse hyperextension is that you can really really feel the hamstrings if you do it right, and I was watching a video with Mark Bell where he was learning how to propel horizontally and the guy kept talking about hamstrings and I thought why don't I try doing the reverse hyper a little bit different and yes I noticed you can really train your horizontal power by doing reverse hyperextensions

I remember the days everyone warned on plyometrics, while the former UDSSR used it with succes, after Mrk Versteegen came up it got more common or Ross Enamait, one will need it especially getting older or it will be hard to catch yourself while tumbling, irrelevant how many squats you do a day. See also Mel Siff and Verkoshansly. Great video as always, keep the work Dane! Even the KB swing guys will not get the same results with a good training program regarding plyometrics which shall be trained with isometrics as well.

So I’ve been using the speed training program for a few months now and after my first round through it I realized that my gym doesn’t have a lot of the equipment I need. Could I take some of these workouts and implement them into the program and still get the same results?

High impact exercises like Jumping/running are not recommended in my early age knee osteoarthritis. What can you recommend instead for speed & strength?
@datoolz0
@datoolz0 Жыл бұрын
I have early stage osteoarthristis, and I am jumping away bro! The reality is doctors take a conservative standpoint that isn't fully correct. I suggest you jump away, although the fact is you do look a bit heavy. Lose some weight.

@@samfolkestad1726 Why is this stuff not being written up in scientific journals? So annoyed it is not being recommended, at the very least it's worth a try if it does fix the problem at low to no cost.

Dane do you think calves make a difference in lifting and sports performance because you can look at Lu Xiaojun, ghost faced Dane, and some athletes y'all have big calves but I never hear anyone saying to train calves except for some nobody saying to do them for a 60 inch vertical 😂 thoughts garage strength and viewers.

Definitely. In Olympic weightlifting, they primarily work to contract in the second pull, and in powerlifting-like movements, they're probably the most important stabilizer of the ankle alongside the tibialis. In general sports, unquestionably. I can't think of very many sports that don't need ankle flexion! Any jumping, running, balancing... tons of applications. In my primary sport of boxing, you're on the balls of your toes a lot so jumping rope and footwork drills are imperative, and these both train the calves but are also facilitated by secondary training of the calves through things like calf raises
