How to get federal unemployment benefits after being denied

Independent contractors and gig workers who lost work during the pandemic are supposed to get federal unemployment benefits. But many Floridians are telling us you applied and were denied.
Part of it is due to confusion at the state level and in many cases that can be resolved.

It is beyond sad, I was only able to receive my 10,000 EIDL GRANT after I was referred to a Grant and Relief Officer who helped me. Do you need help? I can refer you as well to the particular Official that helped me

This is wrong because people that never have worked or kept jobs they are getting benefits but me I get nothing and I've been working since 18

I applied AFTER April 5th, got denied and after nearly 3 weeks, I STILL don't have that PUA link in Connect in which to apply for the federal benefits

How about looking into how or when we will get are back pay. It’s suppose to be retroactive ? As of the cares act law they owe me 4200 dollars.

I was approved for state unemployment filed 12 claims and was denied then told received a letter for an appeal and a day later gtta call to file for pandemic Omg this is bS

Im deemed ineligible by the state and the apply for pua link has not showed for me. I applied once in March and then again April 17. This is unreal.

I applied after April 5th, got an ineligable decision on May 7th....still, no PUA link has shown up after nearly 3 weeks

Nine weeks last Sunday and they just took a look at my file and corrected the problem, so I start from Square One. This Sunday will be 10 weeks since I certified. I'm exhausted and I shouldn't be!

I dont think it's being fairly assest and its taking too long. Which disrupts everything we try to do to keep our payments on time.

I had a similar situation, I applied for my sba grant since March but didn’t receive a penny until I got in contact with a Grant and Relief Officer. I can refer you as well to the particular Official that helped me

I got denied extended benefits due to wrong employer information at the beginning of my claim, but I received all 26 weeks of benefits. Can I file a new claim after my claim expires to receive the extension benefits?

My last day of work was march 31 i was sent a letter saying how much i would get weekly and a unemployment visa card . i call everyday no one has not contacted me about any of my money they said i had coming

You can call repeatedly every day, all day for weeks and get no answer. Then, when someone does answer, you may be not helped and 50/50 chance of your claim being messed up worse than before, if that's possible. Rick Scott and Ron Desantis belong in prison together for this.

Pennsylvania is screwing people,they say you have to apply to other states for unemployment instead of giving the 13 week extension,I just received my final week of unemployment in the beginning of March

Ron Desantis isn't up for re-election in November. We're stuck with the crooked thief for a while; as long as there is no equal Justice to hold him accountable. Best thing to do now is vote against his republican supporters, including Donald Trump.

Yes, typically a parent or guarantor has to be on the acct as well even though u are the account holder

What an absolute mess, Governor you knew this was going to really hurt your constituents when you considered closing bars and restaurants March 17! You knew last year the system was designed to fail from a report last year. Shame on you.

It’s BS ! I have been denied 6 times and it keeps saying because I don’t work for myself and I haven’t been doing my taxes and that’s a lie ! I’ve done my taxes every year since I was working !And I’ve gotten the first and the Second stimulus check direct deposited to my bank account both times now so wth 🤦‍♀️ !!!

Florida ran out of federal p u a funds By 08/22/2020 $300 a week. Florida says DEO is broke period.

What a bunch of games and gimmicks. Been waiting since April 15th for them to process our second application in the new system so that we can get denied in order to get into the system to apply for the federal assistance. So far, Florida owes us 12 weeks of federal benefits. Due to the state not putting forth more efforts to resolve this, our family has ensured suffering and we as residents need the judicial system to do it’s job and to hold the state accountable.
