This is my first time ever seeing a film and my stupid self had to get it stuck, and my dad would DISOWN ME if he finds out You just saved me literally I cannot thank you enough

I found my mom's old film camera, took the film canister, and accidentally overturned it, causing the film to become stuck. (Btw, this is my first time using a film camera, so I have no idea how it works.) I literally don't know what to do, but I found your video and finally got the film out of the canister. Thank you very much, this helped me out when I didn't have any other film to use. I also used the rewind lever on my camera to help get the paper in since I didn't have enough leverage by hand, and the only paper I had was a little too bendy.

This worked great! The things I used was the plastic backing on a paper USPS mail label, and I cut the plastic part to shape. Then I used some scotch tape, and it came out without at issue.

Using another film lead didn't work, but this did! In my case, after the film is definitely stuck on, working the paper side to side and then pulling it out *slowly* did the trick.

I did this when lab ran out of leader retrieval tape. But when I am handle my own BW film I have this issue cause I do not roll all the way into spool. Simple as that. Wind one complete turn after you hear that disconnect. On auto wind and rewind you are bum unless you have a Canon T-90 and EOS 1N, 1N RS, 1-V, F3 with special back system
