I have never had issues with PIA client, im guessing whatever is bothering that may be causing the issues with your other clients, was it torguard that wasnt working for you? probably something to do with the virtual adapter being messed up in some way, may be time for you to uninstall all cleints, remove all virtual adapters if any left and giving it a go, maybe try on another machine or virtual machine to see how it should be working for you.
