When you buy your meglev ticket, you can show your air ticket to get a discount. The meglev ticket is 50RMB, if you show your air ticket, it takes 40RMB. You need to buy your metro ticket when you get LongYang Road, if you buy the metro ticket at the airport, the metro ticket fee includes Airport to LongYang Road. If you buy your metro ticket at LongYang Road station, the ticket fee includes LongYang Road to Dashijie Station.

When I first traveled to China in 2007 to teach English for a year, one of my favorite actives quickly became taking a walk after dinner with friends and exploring the narrow lanes of the subtropical city we lived in. With a couple of lamb or chicken skewers in hand, we were set to explore the city for the night. On our nightly walk to the river that ran through the city, we observed the people around us selling clothes from carts along the streets and students playing ping pong in a park. Everyone was outside doing something (or nothing) and you felt like you were a part of it. One of the best things about China is that you can walk out of your door and everything and everyone is right there waiting for you. As China continues to grow, more and more foreigners are choosing to travel, live, work, or do business in China. No matter what your reason for exploring this vibrant country, the below tips on how to get by during your first days will help give you the confidence to buy your ticket and go have fun in China. #MasterMyVideo #IAmSoFunny #ILikeYoursVideos #YoumakeMeLaughingALot #DontStopMakingVideos #ILikeYourMood #ILikeChinaAndCanada #IPreferAsiaToHaveATrip #SoCoolAndSmart #ILikeSZ #Shenzhen #China #Mainland #HK #HongKong #HighGDPOfChina #PowerNextCenter #travel #traveling #ChineseBillionnaire #PoliticsIsFordbiddenInChina #GoToChinaBeacauseThisLocalDestinationIsReallyCool #TryToManageWithTheMandarinLol #VacationIsFunInChina #VisitingChinaIsAFantasticWayOfFreedom #IDonTSpeakChinese #ChineseDonTSpeakEnglishLol #SeeItAtTheInstagood #TripGoToChinaSoCoolDestination #holiday #TakeSouvenirAndPhotoChina #TheMountainGreenValeyIsFun #TravellingIn5StarsHotelIsCheaperThanInEuropeAndUSA #tourism #tourist #instapassport #GoToPassToTraveForgoingToVisitChina

7 RMB is the price if you take the metro directly from Pudong airport to Dashijie. From Longyang Rd it should be 4 RMB instead. You should buy your metro ticket after arriving at Longyang rd bacase the vending machines don't allow choosing different departure stations.

The ticket from longyang Rd. to Dashijie is 4 yuan instead of 7 that you bought. Maglev and metro are not in the same price system.

It would be cheaper if you buy a metro ticket to "Lingkong Road". The fare from Longyang Road to Dashijie is ¥4, which equals to the fare from PVG to Lingkong Road, plus the fare of maglev, the total fare is ¥54. In the video you bought the metro ticket to Dashijie at PVG station and that means...um...the total fare of ¥7 is enough for a distance of 36km to 46km. The distance between Longyang Road, which is the terminus of the maglev and a interchange center of Line 2, 7 and 16, and Dashijie, is only about 14km. A ¥4 ticket is enough. The price difference of ¥3 is enough to buy two bottles of water haha😂

In fact, you could get a 20% discount with your boarding pass shown to the ticket seller of the maglev, or I mean, you will spend ¥10 less on your maglev ticket. 😄

why is the maglev train ticket so expensive? I heard that it's ¥40 from airport to longyang rd station, which is a very short distance, so why do we have to pay all that? and can you please advice me how to reach my hotel from Pudong airport to Xizang north road station ?

i heard you can get a 18 yuan day pass or 45 yuan 3-day pass for the subway which also gives you discount on busses and the Maglev train (40 Yuan with discount)
@user-ji8uo2wm3d
@user-ji8uo2wm3d 6 жыл бұрын
Partially right. You can get a 18 yuan 1-day pass or a 45 yuan 3-day pass, but that is ONLY for the subway, not for the maglev or busses or ferries or other kinds of transportations. If you want to buy a maglev ticket of 40 yuan with discount, you can show the boarding pass to the staff.

There are two other kinds of "passes" in Shanghai Metro. ①1-day pass with one-way ticket of the maglev. It costs 55 yuan.(18 yuan 1-day pass of metro +single ticket(37 yuan*1 time, 26% discount) of maglev )②1-day pass with round-trip ticket of the maglev. It costs 85 yuan.(18 yuan 1-day pass of metro + return ticket(35 yuan*2 times, 30%discount)of maglev).

If you want to take busses or ferries (with discount), it is better to buy a Shanghai Public Transportation Card. It would have no discount if you "swipe" your card for the first time, but it would give you a ¥1 discount within 120 mins after swiping your card every time. For example, if you take buses from South Zhongshan No.1 Road, Dapu Road(just a location) to Xietu Road, South Ruijin Road(another location), you will take bus no. 933 first, 17 next and 89 finally. It will cost ¥2 when you take 933, but it will cost only ¥1 each on 17 and 89 with your card.

Can I use U.S. base credit cards for taxi rides there?
@Changyp
@Changyp 6 жыл бұрын
No. Taxis in Shanghai doesn't accept credit card. You need to pay by cash. However, it is more convenient to take Meglev to LongYang Station then transfer to Metro. If you have Shanghai Transportation Card, you can also pay the Taxi, Meglev, Metro by this card, but you need to save some money into the card before you use it.

Was quite some work to get on the wifi, since i dont have a chinese cell phone to get the activation code, you have to go to some random self serve kiosk and scan your passport (which is scammy looking but im sure its secure) to get a little print out of a code.
