On my Bismarck by combining torpedo lookout system and modified vigilance (35% instead of 25%) I get a assured torp detection of 2.4k for all torps. With hydro, its boosted up to 4.7k. While this build is more for fun and showing dominance to loliboats, it has proven useful in chasing dd's and torp screening for my teammates or div mates. Cant wait to finish regrinding this line and see how the 6k hydro is affected by this setup.

why u think the 1.8km upgrade stacks with this? its only assured detection...not regular torp detection which depends on the specific torp stats. it is only really useful vs deepwater torps and only when u dont have hydro on.

@@cobrazax vigilance stacks with this as said in the update info. I also tested it out and it works to the same way as said above. While I know it's not the most viable build, its a fun build to mess around and unless your caught in a middle of a turn, pratictly no torps can touch you. In my opinion German BBS is one of the most viable ships to put this module on as you can tank dmg well and this method makes you more self sufficient if your fighting a DD all alone. I hope this helps u with my reasoning.

@@cainsharples3818 If it stacks then vigilance can make all torps detectable like 20km shima torps...can be really useful. It seems too powerful this way though

@@cobrazax while it is strong against torps. You sacrifice a lot. 10% concielment and 3 point skill. While the skill point investment is not too much of a sacrafice the concielment is. This bacicky leaves all cruisers and dd's to not take the module. Only on BB it is really viable and even then only German BB gain the most benefit due to there already crappy concielment and good armor. Plus this enhances there hydro. Overall while people with this build geta a massive one up on dd's, due to it being in the concielment slot, it's not truly viable for most ships in my opinion

You can easily swap Flight Control 1 to Squadron Consumables on at least 2 CVs - Kaga and Enterprise, ESPECIALLY Enterprise (best fighter consumable), because it extends fighter duration - its super usefull in competitive environment.

I honestly preferred the previous acquisition module... Because it helped to spot ships hidden in smoke screens in my Tirpitz, Bismarck, and GK; as well as help spot torpedoes. Now all it does is very slightly increase most torpedo spotting range, and heavily increase the spotting range of deep water torpedoes.... In other words, it heavily negates Pan Asian Destroyers.... Which I'm not really happy with, because despite having never sailed in them (bar a CB rental) I can still see it as purely a nerf to the players who do like them and play in them...

Same - I really enjoyed having that bonus to detect ships, not only am I further pissed that Torps are super nerfed now (not like CVs were not spotting most of em anyways) but that took a very viable skill for my DD hunting away.

I could see some players taking faster turret traverse for a ship they use to brawl with, even if that ship's normal turret traverse isn't terribly slow. For a ship that you want to use in close range engagements, the aiming module isn't really required, and the player could free up 2 captain skill points to use on something else besides expert marksman, or combined faster turret traverse with expert marksman to better target specific spots on an enemy ship at very close range.

Personally, I've put the turret module on my myoko, mogami and my non secondary usa battleships such as North Carolina, Montana and Iowa , given that you cannot put accuracy module on that slot.

Rather than a "longer" heal or DCP, I think you could add the Ship Consumables Mod. 1 to ships that have a lot (I mean A LOT) of consumables. I tested it a bit on my Algerie, and longer Speedboost, Hydro, Fighter and Reload Booster was an ok advantage, not super OP, but decent. Still, I believe concealment is king, but I wanted to share my test.

Personal opinion: Well done tutorial, but I kinda disagree with you on a few points (I do agree with you on most ones): 6th slot changes? Yeah, nothing really happening her 5th slot? Concealment is still kind, unless you have one of the few ships that gets some use out of stacking rudder shift time. Beyond that? Dunno why WG shafted the torp reduction, wouldnt have made a huge difference imho for DD players (and at least in terms of CWs I'm a DD main nowadays). Way less impact than CV rework or say the WIP stats of the Soviet cruisers with their stealth-radar capability.... 4th slot: Agree, MBM2 for anything that has horrible traverse speed and doesn't need one of the other ones more direly. Swapped it onto my Yami (helps with the leg mod penalty), Kleber...Gremy... AA is useless except for the ships where you don't really need anything else and have good AA (Worcester or Friesland maybe), but those are rare and few. Torp reload...now that a nice change, I even slotted it on a few cruisers who either can stealth-torp (Mino) or work enough with torpedos to make the reduced crit damage chance situational useful. 3rd slot? Now, here i tend to disagree... Yes, LS somewhat dampens the effects of a broken rudder or stearing gear, but half efficiency ain't the same as not being broken or shorter repair time. And while I haven't run the exact math, imho the -5/-3% changes on fire and flooding doesn't produce that much of a change in fire chance. Not compared to a) base coefficient and bullet fire chance. I mean for me that's kind of like murphys law... If you really don't need another fire, you will get one...despite just getting hit by one single bullet and having the module and all the flags and skills. Which is why I swapped out all the dam con modules on all my regular cruisers. Running the new engine room on all DDs and cruisers, dam con on BBs and super cruisers. Oh and quick work around for those that a) watch the video while the free dismount discount is still live and b) have too many ships in port: I went for the following approach: Take a look at a ship, ask yourself if there's any module you want to change right now. If the answer is no, move on to the next ship. If the answer is yes, ask yourself how likely you will play the ship in the next weeks/few months. If the answer is "not likely", just remove the module you want to change anyway and sell it from the Inventory for half the regular cost. Then save that money until WG grants us the next period with a -50% discount on modules, then flesh out all those ships again. In which case you changed the modules for zero dubs and credit investment (only time), instead of selling old ones for half and buying new ones for the full price.

If you can spare 3 points on vigilance and take the spotting module it gives you a 2.25km heads up on torps. Place it on the bismarck and it extends the hydro detect of what was said on WG stream to 2.25km plus hydro. Then take fighter plane and you have some pretty good awareness of torps coming during the whole game with a minimum of 2.25km and maximum of over 7km. Not bad but understand the need to just take concealment aswell.

The torpedo acquisition module just means you can't have a lower torpedo detection than this... I don't think it stacks with Vigilance or hydro. :) It just means you spot any torps at this range even if their detect is lower.

I'm not sure: in a Roma with excellent concealment, concealment module can be surely beneficial, but in ships like the Amagi or the Kii, where you are being seen form the moon anyway and very poor maneuverability to play with, I think torpedo defence is not a wrong choice, especially with all the CV we see today, able to detect anything on the battlefield anyway. I'm sure concealment will be useful here and then and will save your life a time or two anyway, but how more often you find that dastardly dd out of nowhere, peppering you from nowhere in the early or mid stages of the game and forcing you to fight the rest of the battle with half your health? Other ships, like the Tirpitz also could benefit from torpedo protection if you go for a full secondary build, because you are missing Hydro but need to close the distances if you want to shine. Your concealment is nothing special anyway and your AA and secondaries are more often active then silent. I don't see torpedo module as useful on Crusiers CV and DD through: only on BB. What I don't like about toprs protection is that it penalizes slow and stealthy torps giving you A LOT of reaction times but does almost nothing for cruise underwater missiles that hits like trains and are spottable from afar anyway but close the distances at shells rate and gives little to no time to react in a slow battleship.

The extra healing potential on the conqueror isn't really that useful, because you can still only heal 50% of pen damage. So unless you're just taking fire damage without also taking HE pen damage, you'll end up dying without getting to use all of your healing ability.

Big brain Smolensk play: torpedo tube mod in slot 3. Let's think about it vs the other options. Main battery mod 2: 15% faster turret traverse? They rotate at 30* a second, unnecessary. AA guns mod 1: AA prep time? Why bother? AA is nigh useless nowadays, don't need it. Aiming System mod 1: the default most people go with, but let's break it down. 7% less dispersion. The max possible firing range of the Smolensk is 19.2 km. At that distance, max dispersion is 159 meters. -7% is 148m, an improvement of 11 whole meters. Insignificant. Smol also has no secondary battery to improve, so really the only "bonus" is faster torp tube traverse, which you also get on... Torpedo Tube mod 1: you get 20% faster tube traverse like ASM1. You also get 5% faster torps, which with 8km range might just save your borscht in a close-in fight with DDs. They won't help you if they get disabled though, which is where the big brain bonus comes in. -40% chance the launcher gets incapacitated, which stacks with slot 1 Main Armaments Mod for a total of -60% chance of being incapacitated. No other mod in this slot gives you a bonus this big, you're a fool to not take it. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

I've never really used modules (I've been saving my money for moving up tiers), so I was wondering what you'd recommend for some specific lines. -Japanese gunboat -Japanese cruiser -American... every line but heavy cruiser I believe (the one ending in Des Moines) -British BB -German cruiser and BB I'd like to know which ones to put on when I eventually get to Tier X on these lines. Thank you in advance if you respond.

The Pyro Jawsome Jesus, please go find videos on each ship and equip modules. Battleships should have the reduced fires/flooding chances and duration. Everything t8 and up should use concealment. Being cheap is only hurting your ship capabilities and making your grinds harder.

i can see using the torp spotting for BBs who are spotted from orbit even with concealment mod. this wrecks pan asian DDs. for any one else i can see it isn't that great. i am trying out the engine mod on my DDs to free up 2 points. so far it seems to be not bad.

I was originally a CBT tester for WoWs, stopped playing for ~1-2 years or so after the release, and recently redownloaded. Would you say the game is slowly dying? I noticed (for the US server) that a lot less people are on nowadays.

Meh - sure US server "daily pop" grew by about 250 players a year (based on 1k growth over 4 years) the quality of play is certainly gone - a sure indication that a core chunk of the base has left, and a mix of returning players like yourself (and myself) who have taken breaks check in from time to time. I'm not sold on the metric anyways since the recent trend by WG has been to offer daily bonuses to log in - there are many days I literally just log in, collect it, and log off. How many of those "daily" players actually play?

Chase the latest fad, watch your fleet get power creeped and nerfed, constant change and crappy match making is profitable for WarGaming as long as you feel having something more will give you better results grind hard and spend where you come up short. Free to play Game developers mimic casino tactics to drain your wallet. FYI Spending money will not help you win!!!

i disaggree on the second slot, for when radar is involved. Last stand wont help much becouse your easy to hit when its active.

Why would last stand (ie sustained engine and steering) not help? Seems to me that when you are under radar and fire then that’s precisely when you need last stand. To be frank, only an idiot does not take last stand on a DD as quickly as they can.

@@IRC2005 Of course you take it, thats not my point. Your speed is cut in half rather than nothing, but in most radar situations this is not enough. And fire isnt much of a deal in most of these situations. Again, i am not talking against last stand here.

Wait, so they made the AA mod useless? LOL, nerfing the US since forever. So US ships are shit AA now, losing a good chunk of it, from the AA mods. That DCP mod, id say 10% isnt that good. Make it like 20-30% and it might be better. 10%, its going to be what? 2-3s? lol. Id say -10% to Consumable CD would be better. That would reduce it like 12s down from base 120s.

@@ichasegaming Then WG should be working on maps. Playing the same map 2-3 times in a row with the difference in mode or spawn has grown past tiring after 5 years.
