Hey Osama, sorry to hear that. If the researcher did not spawn then I would suggest that you try to wait for 73 hours somewhere a little further away such as Megaton and then return to the Ant Tunnel and see if that works. I had this too, but found that dragging his body out of the pond made him respawn when you return.

Sadly this can happen with Dogmeat. Have you perhaps tried looking in the scrapyard again, that's usually his default place to go to. You may also find him outside of Vault 101. Alternatively if you have access to console commands then that may be your way to go forward.

No problem at all, it's a great hidden away location and this simply exploit really helps to boost the science skill.

Nope, it will just accumulate every time you grab the book. So basically use the location as a pit stop whenever you go by and increase your stat as you play the game.

@@TrappedInFallout yeah speaking of glitch yesterday i found a new one like i was going to get the mirv and then my game crashed at the same moment i quicksaved the game and when i restart the game my quicksaved disapeared but all the item i had in my inventory duplicated twice i tried again by manually crashing the game but it didnt work tried with a new charactere didnt work and i still dont know how it happened like i was like wtf just happened why i cant fast travel but yeah weird

@Demone_PVP Sounds interesting. Maybe while the game was saving it made duplicate copies and something went wrong in the middle. Sometimes Bethesda games just have a mind of their own and make things so much more interesting.

But I am really happy for your alternative steps and it's something that I may offer as a solution to anyone who still has problems. @@TrappedInFallout actually the issue isnt about traveling to megaton, its actually 73 hours for respawn not 72, the reason @Alex Hayford thinks you need to go to megaton and come back is because when you fast travel time passes by, in which case megaton takes more than 1 in game hour to fast travel to and back from, you can go just outside the cave and wait 3 full in game days plus 1 more in game hour and get the same results

Its actually 73 hours, so traveling to megaton and back is not necessary

@@dripdeaver5968 Yeap your totally right. I say Megaton as it forces that extra hour and also forces you to travel to a different spawn area in the game but staying in the same are and waiting the additional hour would in theory work the same since your loading back into the cave.

@@TrappedInFallout not just in theory, it actually works like that, i did it that way to max out my big guns skill as i typed that last comment. So you can say ive tested and verified it.

Hi Wolf Mist, sorry to hear about your issue. It just so happens that Theoszombie was experiencing this very same issue (see our comments thread below). To answer your question, there really is no solution sadly. It happens to some but not all. I would however suggest that you try the common solutions which has worked for some but sadly not all. You can try waiting somewhere else in game (such as Megaton) for 73 hours and coming back to the Ant Tunnel. You may also try to load a previous save file before you entered the tunnel and see if it still happens. If you do have a safe file before entering the tunnel, make sure to not loot any ant and only loot the corpse and see if your game crashes when you try to enter the tunnel again. Hey Nick, I'm sorry to hear that your having issues. Can you describe what issues your having specifically and I might be able to help. That said, if you having issues around the NOC not soawing then try waiting somewhere far and not in the wasteland such as Megaton. If instead your game crashes the moment you enter the cave then you may need to reload an old save file and try again. If you can give me a little more detail on what it's not working then hopefully I may be able to provide some further info to help. That's really strange, sadly it sounds like you have an issue there. Are you able to load up an old save file (hopefully not to old) and see if you can enter the cave without waiting at all? I actually had a similar issue near a shack right next to Rock Breakers Last Gas. My game would always crash the moment I went anywhere near the place. The only way I was able to fix it was to load an old save file. Let me know how you get on Theoszombie.

@@TrappedInFallout I restarted from Vault 101 entrance and went straight there. The same thing happened. I loot his body, wait 3 days, kill and loot a 2nd time, then it crashes when I try to go back in after I wait.

@@TrappedInFallout I looked into it and apparently it's a very common issue without ant real way to fix it. The only option is to reload a save before the first time you enter and hope for the best each time. They say looting ants is believed to be one of the main issues,, but I don't recall looting the ants. I'm going to make sure not to loot any of the ants and only take the book off the researcher. I won't even bother with the ammo and gun on the ground.

@@Theoszombie That's really interesting. It looks like maybe someone tried to fix this exploit but have instead introduced a bug in the process. That sucks my friend. I have a similar glitch video in Bethesda Ruins, hopefull that will stick work for you. Another thing you may want to try, just to see if it helps is to wait a little longer than 72 hours and go to a different cell in the game and do it. For example, travel to somewhere like Megaton, wait there, fast travel back and then see what happens.

@@Theoszombie Ok, let me know how that goes. It's a really strange one. I was actually replying to your message while your sent me this one 😄, maybe try my other suggestion also to see if that helps. The ant loot does seem a little odd but not totally out of the real of possibilities. Best luck with this one, I know you really want to be able to use this exploit.

@@TrappedInFallout the even weirder factor is the big guns raider in Bethesda ruins spawns in 3 for me. I have no idea how or why this could be a thing. If I hadn't seen the other comment pointing out the Xbox difference, I would have given up haha.

@TrappedInFallout okay so it worked but it's bugged. The ant researcher only respawns if he's in the water when he dies or in that general room. But as soon as he's out of the room he won't respawn. Weird mechanic.

@andrem895 Ah OK. So on your end it works but only under specific conditions. That's interesting. It's worked well on my side as you can see but it's also strange regarding the water thing.

@@TracerX Sorry to hear that. It should work as shown in the video but if you say you have pretty much wanted the correct time and more even then I'm not totally sure why. It might be a respawn issue with the cell which hopefully may work after a game reset. Have you tried the glitch again after turning off and on the game?

@@TrappedInFallout You cant progress the unmarked quest. Dont interact with anything and dont kill the enemy queen ant and it will work. Already maxed out.
