I can't get it to work. I have tried every DNS code I could find, and it keeps coming up with error 52100, which according to wiimfii, is an error with the DNS code. Can you help me with this? Also, are there different DNS codes for different regions or is it universal?

@@mindbloowReally? I have Dolphin I just don't know how to rip the ROM from the Wii disc (I'm trying to avoid piracy at all costs)

@@fluffsquirrel I mean, if u dump a copy from ur mario kart wii disc to a memory and run the copy on ur pc that technically its not piracy cuz u bought the game, i have a legit disc and i play private servers changing the dns of my Wii console to the Wiimfi bypass to play their servers, idk how it works on Dolphin i play on my wii xd

@@mindbloow Hi again Mindbloow! Dang, that's clever! Well, I can't dump it because, stupidly enough, my laptop and desktop both did not come with a disc reader, so either I have to go buy a USB Disc reader or I'll have to find some other way to rip it. Wiimfi, ahh good thinking! Man, that sounds fun! I didn't know you could still do it on the original Wii, I still have my good 'ol Wii-U but like with the 3ds, everything's EOL. Dolphin is interesting, I've seen this guy, I think it's TangoAi who uses the Dolphin commandline to run Reinforcement Learning AI and have it complete levels for him, and it plays cool games like Super smash bros for the Gamecube so I like using it with Slippi to play online. Good luck with your mariokart wii games! Imma keep trying with the DNS we have in Mariokart DS, but it takes sooo long to wait for people so maybe we'll have more players soon. Ciao!

I managed to play an online match of Metroid Prime Hunters some months ago on my DS Lite. It was only against one person and I got demolished but it was still pretty awesome that it worked.

Just a tip, this works with MelonDS emulator to play Nintendo DS Online games on PC as well. You can even play on PC along with other DS and 3DS players.

I was thinking about this. Imagine if the speed of the other karts was modified so that snaking isn't considered "breaking the game" and we can all play as our favorite MKDS version on the same track, rendered as the game we chose!

Whenever I connect to my wifi there’s a grey lock and when I click on it it says it’s settings are unsupported. And I have a wifi router but it’s password locked, nothing else. Any other way I can get it working? Thanks 👍

It works the same. Also, Most DS games made after 2008 use modern Wi-Fi so you can connect to your regular WiFi router and just change the DNS. Hope this helps.

Anyone know of a realistic workaround for an iPhone owner like myself? Unfortunately can't use it as a hotspot as Apple won't allow it to be open without a password.

Same is true of hosting with MyPublicWifi on PC. This is a tricky situation, try using an emulator, it won't make you have to deal with Open Networks, MelonDS uses an emulated wifi connection

I have an android so this may not be helpful, but you can't just put in no password, you have to change the safety/security/password protocol from WPA2 to "None"

Yes, most routers don’t support WEP anymore and DS’s (or 3DS’s playing DS games) only support either open or WEP Wi-Fi settings.

@Pinch Soft: The NO Hacks statement is incorrect because doing this is actually considered hacking since your changeing the DNS to point to a hackers custom server. You can also do that with the Nintendo switch since the nintendo switch does not have a web browser you can change the DNS to switch to a hackers Browser, so you can used the online Browser on the Nintendo switch and then get banned from the payed online services on Nintendo switch for accessing a hacker Browser. I am well aware that the Nintendo DS Nintendo completely turn off online so they are no risk of getting banned from Nintendo. However you might get banned from the 3DS online services if you do it on the DS mode of the 3DS, since online from Nintendo still works on the 3DS, 3DS mode the only thing that does not work is buying game online.

It is not a hack, and the online function on 3DS is not done through the 3DS network settings, therefore you cannot get banned from it.

All you are doing is telling your DS to connect to an alternate server being hosted by someone who reverse-engineered the Nintendo servers. That is not really hacking.
