Sell it while you still can lol. New 3ds xl is the best model. Multigba s is a android emulator I use for Gameboy games it supports online lobbies with live voice and text chat. They even have one for the nes and SNES I recommend checking those emulators out nice to have in case they ever get discontinued also you don't have to have the same ROM so you can play just like ds download play. Almost like cloud gaming testing before getting it I mean if someone is hosting the game for you to join no password that is.

I kept trying to do this this afternoon (and with the DNS settings on the previous video) on my local library’s open WPA WiFi. I could connect to the internet, but I could not get it to connect to the Pokemon SoulSilver WFC battle tower :/ I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, getting frustrated. I don’t know how to set up a dedicated WEP router with my isp, and I can’t set a hotspot on my iPhone without a password. So I’m stuck…

I remember playing a lot of MKDS online last year! The most amount of people I’d see are maybe 1-3 but it was still cool! I used my phone’s hotspot with an open security but unfortunately my new phone doesn’t allow connections without a password.

I think there’s more ppl playing the modded servers; ctgp nitro. I just got into ctgp 7 for Mario kart 7 and came across ctgp nitro while getting into ctgp 7. From the vids I’ve seen on nitro it looks pretty active; full lobbies just like ctgp 7. I haven’t had the chance to download it but I’m gonna pretty soon

I tried with Mario Kart DS but it wouldn’t connect to the mobile Wi-Fi hotspot and I made sure the hotspot was password less but no luck but The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing DS Version connected fine.

Hi, tried to download some Mystery Gifts on my Soulsilver copy. However the game gives me the 20110 error. I followed step by step the instructions and the console it's able to connect to the Wi-Fi connection but still says that the service is discontinued. How do i proceed? I use a 2DS

If it doesn't work with a Ds GAME... you have to back out or reset the console after you establish the network connection. Everytime you get an error you need to reset and it should work when you come back in

I get error code 52100 on my 3ds when atempting to connect to an open hotspot on my phone in ds mode. I have checked that the dns is set correctly and I tried manual ip address assignment and that didn't fix it. The 3ds shows 3 bars for a while, before dropping to 0 and displaying the error. In manual ip assignment mode, my phone doesn't even show the 3ds as connected. (In auto ip mode the 3ds connects for a moment but then fails.) I have watched multiple tutorials and tried multiple dns settings, none of them work.

Ye it’s bc DS only supports the WEP Wi-Fi security or no password and if you’re erroring out it’s probably bc the Wi-Fi connection ur using isn’t WEP or passwordless.

The "WEP key" is the password. You need to have a connection old enough to only use WEP as protection, or have no protection at all. For example, try using a hotspot without a password

I'm using original DS hardware and game cartridge, and phone wifi hotspot with no security, and I am also getting error 52100. Testing the connection in wifi settings or trying to go online in game displays green signal strength bars while the connection test hangs for about 10 seconds, before the bars turn red and display that the server can't be reached despite being connected to the wifi hotspot. Does the game I'm playing matter? Does it matter if I used the same cartridge & DS combo to battle online years ago when Nintendo's servers were still up? Regardless, amazing vid and thank you!

It doesnt work with an iPhone because iPhone will always set up hotspot with a password, or it sets up a network without WEP, which is an older type of network.

The ds/3ds does not support 5ghz networks. Set the modem to 2.4ghz or enable band steering

@@LuisTillero-hu1puI just use my mobile hotspot on my phone. It works just sucks it's always a hassle to get it done with my home network. My router says it does both bands but will never connect to 2.4 unless it's my Xbox series s because yeah that's what I need for the new game systems the slowest connection outta the two. Do not buy Xtreme internet they only have one Ethernet port and crappy service. Sadly that's all my area has to offer.

I’m having the same problem, apparently you can’t use a hotspot password free on an iPhone. I’m trying to connect pokemon platinum. I’m gonna try on a cousins hotspot on a Samsung. If it works I’ll let you know.

@@EdoardoMarasa That's a DNS error so I recommend checking the DNS if it's correct, and if that doesn't work, erasing the WFC settings in the options menu

If you are playing a dsi/enhanced game, set it up in 3ds settings, if you are playing a ds game, set it up in nintendo wfc setup

I don't think it would work with DS Virtual Console games and Wii backward compatibility on Wii U, but for Wii U native games, you would want to use Pretendo Network SSSL instead, which provides enough functionality for playing online but doesn't allow for access to some of its extra features.

@@Chipmunkboy it did went successfully when I did it in the 3ds internet thing (with the dns too), that didn’t work. I even did it with the ds one as well, that didn’t work either

That’s a DNS error so most likely the DNS is entered wrong or the WFC settings need to be erased first, try that it will probably fix it

It doesn’t work with an iPhone hotspot because iPhone does not allow you to set up a password-less hotspot, unfortunately.
