Devon doesn't actually exercise like this. It's all an elaborate ruse to fool fans and competitors into stupid training techniques in order to injur them and make them weaker than himself. Everyone knows Devon actively tries to bring down the skill levels of armwrestles. He never trains with people who want to armwrestle hin (me especially, why haven't I been flown out to armwrestle him yet?) and he never travels to teach people anything.

Heavy loads is really what you want for building tendons. Either overcoming isometrics or yielding isometrics, or very heavy actually slow reps (not slightly slower regular concentric & eccentric). Otherwise it becomes much more of a muscle thing. Going for a minute and a half in this video, seems to be more about building capacity/endurance (since he's mimicking the time of a typical armwrestling round and rest times). Maybe. All his regular training outside of rehab stuff is all very heavy static hold/Heavy Slow Reps tendon stuff, so he's very covered in this regard already of course lol.

Isometrics can be pretty effective, although I do prefer overcoming instead of yielding statics. 😊 I actually set out to test the effectiveness of static exercise and completely stopped doing curls, skullcrushers, ... about a year ago and am solely doing isometrics for my arms + stretching (was inspired to do this experiment by scientific literature). As Devin said, the pump you get is just insane. 😁

Devon, you`re a mountain of respect, you`re humble, friendly and fairplay, not to mention that you`re smiling instead of being angry or mad at the table and of course, you`re a great teacher by sharing such information with others. I can`t see why someone would or could be rude with such a gentleman, and unfortunately, from what I saw in other videos, you had some opponents with this bad attitude and I just can't understand their behavior. But anyway, this comment is about you and not others, I`m completely honest when I say that you`re one of the greatest sportsman ever, the world is better just because it`s having you. Thank you Devon ! PS: This appreciation doesn`t come from a sportsman, but from a corporatist who forgot long time ago how sport "feels like".

I'm in a weight loss process (-22 kilos already, 10 more to go) and as a way of preventing losing lean body mass I've included statics / resistance exercises to my workout. I fell like too much aerobics will just make you to get as skinny as those marathon athletes, and actually 70-80 % of the weight loss comes from your diet, not exercises. I can't stress enough how beneficial doing statics has been to me, I can REALLY fell the pump while doing this, whereas when doing aerobics I fell nothing but exhaustion with no pump. I believe it is truly helping me in preventing lean body mass! People should definitely give this kind of workout practice more credit!
