Guilty as charged. Great advice, however I normally do a zone focus ‘preset’ as a matter of course. Spacial and distance awareness is so important here. Before my recent M acquisition I used manual lenses on a Lumix GX8 and that certainly helped. Thanks ✌️📷🇦🇺

Nice set of tips, well done. Regarding zone focus on most digital cameras, it is very difficult to use, since most lenses are drive-by-wire these days and do not maintain a focus setting when the camera goes to sleep or off. So your "zone" needs to constantly be re-set. Much more sensible with a manual Leica which will keep your settings forever....

I'm on a M240. I always set the shutter on 'A' (automatic) , f.11, infinity and ISO 2000. And never the lens cap attached. So I'm able to pull out the camera and shoot. I call it my ready to shoot settings. If I continue shooting, the settings are adjusted depending on the job, but in general my ready to shoot settings are working out very well. Your tips are very useful!

Hello.I still have difficulty focusing the lens. My lens is 90mm summarit

If your M is a film camera, the reason for bad focusing may be the range finder mechanism is out of adjustment. Leica can adjust it for you. If you have a M240 or M10 you can always use live view (LV) to control your focusing. You can buy a 1,25 or 1,4 x magnifier for the view finder. I'm on a 1,4 x and it's very helpful. All focusing with lenses larger than 50 mm isn't easy on an M. I often use an EVF on my m240. I'm not a great fan of the Summarit line, but Steve Huff made a review on it: www.stevehuffphoto.com/2015/05/11/the-new-leica-90-summarit-f2-4-lens-review-on-the-m-240/. One more tip: an American guy produce an M view finder with a yellow coating to improve the contrast in the ranger finder patches (matches). Sorry, but I've lost the link. Before I leave: the connecting rod to the RF in your lens can be bent or out of adjustment too. Enjoy your Leica M.
