Every time I put in the WEP key it keeps giving me the following error message “these settings are invalid confirm the information and try again.” I tired different hotspots and even using my wifi router info but it keeps giving that message once I try to type in the WEP Key.

Doesn't work for me, i use a 3ds xl and both black 2 and mk ds to try this out, my connection works perfectly on the outside but no matter what, i can't connect to neither, it considers i don't have the good ip or something

i keep getting “The access point’s security settings are not supported by the nintendo ds.” i m using a New 3DS XL connected to an android hotspot with no password, but i am keep getting error 20100, my DSi doest work with regular wifi but i would like to connect my pokemon diamond to the WFC, is it related to the DNS address i am using or could be something else ?

Hi, I've been trying to set the connection with a mobile hotspot with a DSi, but once I'm at Mario Kart's CFW set up menu it gives me the error 51099 which tells me that the hotspot is not compatible with the DSi, how can I fix it? It shows a correct connection from the settings menu but not inside the game...

If you have an iphone it wont let you setup a hotspot without a password. So this workaround will not work. Sadly the part thats just glossed over on this video is the part everyone has an issue with. If i find a solution ill update my post here for everyone.

I did find a solution and forgot to update. I use amplifi router and created a guest ssid without a password and that was the only thing that allowed me to connect. I am able to temporarily turn it off and on and since it’s guest wifi it’s not so much of a worry but I know not all have that capability or want to work around in that manner but that’s the only thing that worked. Also make sure you update dns to use the new server as they have probably changed since this was posted. But without a password using guest wifi I didn’t have to change anything to wep. Good luck with your setups everyone

I cannot get this to work, I have a standard DS title ("walk with me" aka "Personal Trainer: Walking") and the hotspot is my phone (a Samsung SM-A920F). The hotspot is open with no password, and using the 2.4GHz band. The old 3ds xl I am using (in ds mode) connects for a moment and my phone sees it as connected, but then I get error 52000 (unable to get an ip address) the first time I connect or 52100 (unable to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection). This happens with or without the custom DNS set.

doesnt work. my DSI can only connect with the advanced setup in the settings. in the mariokart, It doesn't read the connection, and I tried to connect it with the regular setup and the in-game wifi settings and it couldnt pick up my router after a dozen tries.

mkds only supports connections 1, 2 & 3 (go to your wifi router/modem admin settings and set the 2.4ghz wifi to 802.11b & wep security)

It says that Nintendo WFC is discontinued and gives me the error code 20110. Could the fact that my copy is Japanese have anything to do with it?

Which game is it? Some games are region locked so they won't work outside of Japan (animal crossing being one of them). I think any old friends or friend code settings on your game would also prevent you from being able to play online.

It's either because your not using open or WEP security or your ISP blocks custom DNS

Me too. I think the problem is that our routers are newer so they don’t support WEP connections because they aren’t as secure, while the DS needs a WEP connection to actually work… I’m trying to get around this issue myself without messing with my router lol

ISSUE PLEASE HELP: I am trying to connect to Wimmfi and I managed to connect my DSi XL to my new phone hotspot via advanced setup. But when I exit the settings and go on to a game, it will not allow me to connect to the hotspot anymore, as advanced options doesn't appear in game settings. Any ideas?

ds games don't support advanced options, they only support 802.11b & wep

make sure to set the signal band to 2.4ghz instead of 5ghz

So, for the USB connector, you need to change the dns settings of your virtualbox to the dns, and also disable your firewall on the virtualbox.

If you need a VPN or anti virus/anti malware software to use your phone you phone is sh*t and shouldn’t be sold or used. That’s why I only use iPhone now. *I’m poor but I’m actually saving hundreds of dollars by using iPhone. I just buy the cheapest on that’s in their store. My SE3 was only $429 brand new. I’ve saved over 800 just this year alone because I don’t have to replace my phone or get it fixed constantly.*

@@No__direction__Android being a "virus magnet"? Yes the susceptibility for viruses are higher on Android systems in the same vain that a windows system holds the potential for viruses to spread (though windows defender is really good compared to the XP days 😅). I've used android devices for over a decade, and not because of meandering debates over which is better just for the convenience of APK's (allowing me to get pretty much any app for free), and emulators just being so much stronger on the operating system. The only virus I've ever got on an android device, was when I was 9 in 2013 😂, and tried to get Gems for free in clash of clans. Besides that, if you have common sense, viruses should never be an issue. But if you're really concerned, any decent security software supports multiple devices (90% of the time supporting mobile as well).

Does your phone have Wifi Sharing in hotspot settings? You could share your phones WiFi connection rather than your cellular connection and maybe that could fix it.

be careful if you use a VPN on routers it doesn't work recommend deactivating the VPN for it to work

Just tested it and it works, the only problem is that nobody seems to play this game or can figure out how to connect to the internet so I cant' find people to play with.
