I quit alcohol for 12 years, but just losing my two oldest children within two months, I backslid, and my heart is so convicted. I know my Lord Jesus is right there with me, and I'm my own worst enemy. I pray that my Lord Jesus will deliver me from this sin that's like a thorn in my side. Wow....I showed my class this video today and something I never expected happened....when it ended many were in tears....they asked if God's grace and love is still available for them even though they have lived a sinful lifestyle....and they asked on how do they take the first step of Repentance and how to have Jesus as their Lord....we prayed together and we just came back from bible study at church today....I thank God for AoC Network and the messages He directs them to share....please pray for my classmates so that they grow in God's word and in being Representatives of His Kingdom.....and please pray for me so that I continue sharing more about God

At my old job we had a tenant that suffer horribly from mental illness. One day I heard a horrible grumbling and something that didn't sound like it came from a human being. I was alone in the office. The noise got louder so I locked the door. It was our tenant he sounded like demon. I was told by management his insurance was cut off and he no longer had the medication he needed. This went on for months. I begged management to step in before he hurt someone or hurt himself he was attacking people and there were children illegally living in the building. Management said they didn't want to be sued. During this whole time he would come to our community room and read the bible we had in our library. He would sit everyday and read it. I could see he trying to fight his illness. On Sundays one of the tenants held church services in our community room unfortunately this man came unclothed. The preacher called some mental community services and they immediately came and got the tenant. When I saw him weeks later he was like a new person calm happy clean and the doctor treating him made sure he had what he needed. I believe because he was faithfully reading the word of God when no one else would step in God sent someone who could.

Ive struggled with addiction for most my adult life. I am 42 years old. I am finally fully committed to walking with christ in my heart. Difficulty is an understatement of the trials i face everyday. But as christ fills my spirit, and holds my hand with little reminders he hasn’t forgotten me and he hasn’t given up on me, my faith strengthens. Thank you for being a part of this journey with completely walking away from drugs and alcohol and every person place or thing of that past. In 1985, l hit rock bottom as far as my life was concerned. I was begging God not to give up on me one minute, then thinking suicide the next. I had so much hate in my heart that l didn't see color. It was on a Sunday night in 1985 that l came back to God after ten years of being in the wilderness of this world. I was saved in 1974 at 22 years old. That Sunday night l knelt down at that pew and ask God, "lf you are real, can you take this hate out of my heart". It was the next morning as l opened the door to go outside that l saw "The most beautiful blue sky, not a cloud in it and green trees" l thought to myself, "How long was it that l didn't see color because of the HATE in my heart. I made a vow to God after that, that l would read His Word everyday. Thirty six years l still read His Word everyday. Thank you God for your forgiveness!!!

The nutrition in red meat and saturated fat has been very healing to my brain and the health of my body. There are many testimonials on line that will attest to the same results. I have been just recently reading scripture, watching sermons, testimonies and my biggest struggles have been lust, envy, jealousy, anger, and smoking just to name a few. I want to change who I am through his word. I threw out my nicotine and have been fighting my other habits. I act in anger so much more than I want. I do not need it. I will fight these sins I have committed through prayer and repentance. I just want it to come from the heart. I want to know him so badly. I pray that day comes. I ask anyone who has that relationship that I seek with God that you pray for me in the battles to come. For almost one month I waited for this. having a sinful life is like having fun for short time, but it consumes me.

God spoke to me after about 45 yrs of smoking. I was getting into my car and I heard him say, “ lay them down Joyce and I will take care of the rest” I had prayed for his help to stop several days earlier. I wasn’t even thinking about cigarettes at that min. I looked around to see who was talking to me. That’s when I knew it was him. I didn’t stop right away but about a month later I cried and prayed. I said “ I heard you, but is it too late?” I quit that day. I never had withdrawals and it was as if I had never ever smoked. I’ve never even thought of them again. I can’t even imagine picking one up ever again. That’s the second time I’ve heard Gods voice in my lifetime. I recognized his voice. The first time, I got dropped onto river rocks on my head and I heard him say”straighten up!” I didn’t think much of it then but when I heard him tell me to lay them down, I recognized the voice as the same voice I’d heard all those yrs before. I KNOW he’s real, and he loves me because he’s known that all my life I’ve loved him and talked to him, even though I was a sinner. I changed my life for him. If I’ve ever made a promise to him, I’ve been sure to keep it.

Thank you and thank to the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ I am born again and able to stop my addiction.

For years I have struggled with my addiction to food, and every time I've indulged in it I have cried because I felt so stuck. I would ask God to forgive me and free me. Amen! I was deep in addiction since I was young. All the brokenness that almost destroyed my life brought me to full repentance and surrendering my life wholeheartedly to Jesus. That night I saw a bright light, the ground shook as the chains broke, and the son set me free. I wasn’t even truly living before. It was all Jesus as I tried fixing myself for years but it took something greater than me to fix me. If Jesus can do it for me He can do it for anyone. I lost my mama and my darling brother to alcohol addiction. I've lost many friends to Addiction also. Addiction is so hard to overcome. It becomes an illness because the body takes over the mind. The need becomes unbearable. I know and hold to the truth of my dear family members that I lost. Their hearts were kind and loving and reflected God. They didn't show it sometimes but I know it was there. If you have an addiction it does not make you an evil person. It truly is the hardest to overcome. We all have been addicted to something. I don't think anyone gets away free, being as this world is satan's to do as he wills and everything around us is to tempt us. I was addicted to self loathing. It almost killed me, but when I turned 50 and gave up, I called out to God and I was held in His love. He truly hears you when you call to Him. If you call from your heart, He will answer, In some way or other. God will save you. Once you call He will never let you go. Let Him do a good work in you. Listen and hear what He tells you. You know yourself when God is talking. We all do. It's so hard sometimes but we become victors when we listen to God. Remember that you are never ever alone. God is always with you, even when you don't want Him, He is still there waiting for you. Never think you are alone. Forgiveness of self and others can make a wonderful change in your life. Don't be a victim to what another may have done to you. You become your own abuser and do worse than what others may have done in the first place. Let it go, forgive and move forward. We make all our choices in life no matter what anyone else does to us, it's up to us how we react or who we will be. Christ teaches us everything we need to know. How to overcome anything in this world and it's all because we have God holding us. Let go of what burdens you. Sometimes we even carry the burdens of our ancestors, our parents through their teaching can leave us burdened also. So we carry forward on to our own children sometimes by teaching them and showing them what the world offers and can be setting them up for future addictions. Let it all go. Burdens from this world tie us to the world. Like roots that go down into the earth, tying us down. Don't be rooted in the world. Be rooted in God. Peace Love and Grace be upon you reading this. It's so comforting to know that there are people out there who pray for strangers. my heart is troubled. My heart is troubled because the flesh is weak and I can't resist temptation most of the time. I desperately need help to fight this battle. The one thing that's so hard for me to resist is my sexual desires/lust, I'm single but I still indulge in premarital sex..... it's so hard to find a woman who's willing to wait for marriage and receive God's blessing by doing so. Although I've already committed the sin and have a child. It doesn't mean that I have to continue to live in sin. Fleeing didn't help me overcome addiction (Well, it helped after I knew who he was). I tried to flee but I would stumble. So one day I just decided to get into his word. I started with Ephesians and I understood what it was I was fighting and that God wasn't only for the jews but my God too. I then read Genesis and saw how merciful he was. His love and mercy motivated me to serve him and to flee addiction. I then found a word for me that broke off all the chains. I am no longer a slave to sin... His love for me is my motivator. I remember everytime I was in the bible, I was irritated and I would get suggestive thoughts in my mind. Thoughts like; "one more time". "Throw that bible in the toilet', "just burn the book". The bible was never mine so when I got such thoughts, I would storm in to my brothers room and return the bible to him with so much anger. But some how I would come across encouraging words on KZfaq, pastors saying; "DON'T MAKE IT EASY ON THE DEVIL, HE DIDN'T MAKE IT EASY ON YOU"....I would go back and re-borrow the book! Just now thinking about it. The holy spirit helped me. He showed me that what I was fighting were dark forces, he helped me to stay grounded in the word. He showed me Gods love and mercy. Everytime I was in the word I was empowered until I finally got a word for me that broke off all the chains. I am 9 months free. Hallelujah! What we are fighting isn't flesh and blood. DON'T GIVE UP. FIGHT BACK!
