It looked really wavy and sloppy.

if your cnc is properly trammed, it will just leave a slight variation in grain (similar to when you mow your lawn and you can see the variation in direction even if the grass is same length. usually the lines will smooth to the touch, just a quick light sanding will fix the issue.
