Dan Lok People who don't like your video are given the RIGHT by KZfaq (on whose platform you depend) to dislike/downvote the video. Regardless of your perceived socioeconomic status as a multimillionaire or know-it-all guru or whatever, you are actually nobody to tell anybody to F### OFF. This is not China where hardly anybody has a voice. It's KZfaqLand and we can all like or dislike any video at any time as we wish. Do not insult lest you be insulted.

This is my favorite topic to talk about, as your MINDSET is the biggest thing that will determine your success and failure. Dan and I have such similar beliefs and viewpoints on this, because we've both cultivated the mindset through self-development to create the success we have today.

Most people my age (27) and in my area (Johannesburg, South Africa) just want to buy a car, trade it in after 5 years for another one, get a home loan, make children, retire and chill. The main cause of this is pressure from others to buy a house and pay it off in 20 years just to say, "I own a house". Peer pressure and conformity. I'm not wealthy yet, but I'm on my way there, and I won't get there with my peers' mentality.

Brendon Burchard raises an interesting point about reaching goals. One of the habits he found was highly important is raising necessity. Rather a strong want, you need a higher need to reach your goal (whether it’s becoming rich or anything else). He went from being broke and in debt to becoming a highly respected trainer and a multi millionaire in 18 months due to raising his need to succeed.

I lived in masterminds and seminars growing up with my mentor John hyland. I wasn't supposed to be there, I used to tag a long as well. I truly resonate with this story. What happened? I didn't apply it and let society change my mentality and became lazy in college. Man. I gotta get back to being in better environments and around HIGH INCOME EARNERS AND MULTI MILLIONAIRES AGAIN!!!!!

Oscar Martinez - Independent Mentality They don’t have a strong Why or need to reach their dreams. We are lazy by nature because we are human. Humans are not necessarily hard workers, we enjoy not striving. Necessity raises the game. Make a dream or a goal as a necessary part of your life, and we naturally gravitate towards those actions and behaviors that will help us achieve our dreams.

Great comparision with the mindset of smoker and nonsmoker! I was a smoker for seven years, and I tried many times to quit and I couldnt. And I remember a day when I said "this is not me" and I quit just like that.Actualy, I started hating cigarets for making me to be someone I am not. I still do. All of my friend were smokers and I had no problem hanging around them with my firm decision that thats not me. Later on I stoped seenig those friends, I changed enviroment, it was so benefitial for my personal development. If I implement the same in business area, it will be amasing. Great conversation. Thank You both so much!

I am living "decently" on $30k/yr. So, I could live quite well on $100k, and damned well on $200k. I've never been afraid of hard work, but I Am afraid of hard work without equal return. Every time I try harder, work harder, etc., the return doesn't happen anywhere near equally.

Ryan Walsh The scheme with Indian ghost-writers wrting you sh'tloads of kindle books which you "publish" (pollute Amazon), that scheme that Stefan advertised has been dead for quite some time. Stefan is smart in that he realized he could make WAY more money selling a course about this scheme, rather than just collect his publishing royalties from Amazon. (In other words, the let-me-tell-you-how-to-make-money market is a huge, lucrative market with plenty of small-timers ready to line up your wallet.) You have to always look at what somebody is doing, not just what he is saying. In the case of Stefan, there are many discrepancies. I don't know about the Chinese guy in this video, but you know, birds of a feather flock together.

Great video Dan. I think one of the things people don't realize is how much do they really want and need. People will say i want 100 million. ok fine, what for? I think like you said they don't realize it might be far less if they put it down and got to brass tacks on it. Because once they get it all, the homes, cars, travel, clothes, bling etc. It might be a whole lot less and not as intimidating number wise. Its funny you mention on how bright some people are. I've met some very wealthy and successful people and it seems they just found their nitch and went for it. They didn't let failure be an obstacle but a teaching tool. But when you sit down around them many times you think WTF I'm a hell of a lot smarter then them., so what the fuck am i doing wrong that im not making 1,000 times more.. It def makes you think were are you putting your time and attention. Many times its in the wrong direction or place and the only person that can change you is you.

I think a big reason people dont become wealthy is because what you said. People are scared to fail. They think about the consequences. If they spend all this money and it fails they will lose everything. Im interested, you talked about failing at the end. When about in your career did you make your first big fail? was it after you had made your millions or before? From what i know people dont take risks if they afford to lose.

Love your videos brother. One of the reason I think people doesn't become rich is because they accept the norm about who they are and settled for what they have. They have no desire to learn about investing into their future. Often times, they aren't even worried about retirement until it's too late. I came from a very poor and humble begining but I sacrificed allot to get where I am at.

I really like this conversation because it touches many “poor mentally taboos” I invested a large amount in starting a recording company that failed majorly! Owing banks, friends etc. was a devastating emotion that I held onto for a long time. I wasn’t bad at my profession but I was not well informed so I just burned money on artists that ended up getting good deals from other labels that knew the business much better. I began coaching singers from Xfactor, got talent, voice etc. and made ok money but was afraid to take my coaching business to the next level, so I jumped from contract to contract. Although I was the core value I continued working for other companies and only kept a few students privately. So I completely understand how many of us are dead scared of the responsibility that comes with starting or growing our own business. Surrounding ourselves with richer people is definitely inspiring if we just take the good advice that they possess. And yes many are not smarter than you and I. In fact I got myself into trouble by arguing with my bosses because I saw potential that they didn’t. Advice: keep your mouth shut and ears open. What they had that I didn’t, was the balls to run their business, so of course they wouldn’t listen to all my pearls since I was just hired, so as you mentioned: bring value to the table! Don’t just be a smart ass. You guys touch many great areas. I actually been looking at tons of videos and many of them are full of shit, and many also irrelevant for my business. But your talks and attitude covers things in common for all businesses, because it’s the mentality of a healthy businessman. Cheers! J.

For a long time, I resisted the idea of "pay to play" because I was afraid to get scammed. Many years later, I'm just starting to see that paying the admission to get your brain in and around successful minds is a bargain. It's one thing to buy a book from a successful person, but it's quite another to actually be around the author. If you don't have the money to pay to get into a successful inner circle, find it.

He say people want to be rich but dont want it enough, but thats not the problem, its not because we dont want it enough, the problem is that we dont know how to become rich, a lot of people work hard everyday to make money but dont know how to invest it and use it on their side

I get the mind set, I understand visualization. I don’t understand how! I’ve said since I was young that I’m going to be a millionaire, and yet I’m in my thirties. Not even close.

By greatest 'want' is ultimate freedom and I'm extremely passionate about not having to go to a job anymore. You waste so much of your life at a regular job, 8-10 hours or more per day. It doesn't matter if you make a good salary because the government takes more in taxes. So it's true that you (we) really have to venture outside of that and think bigger and educate ourselves to create income and assets. I'm on my way!! And Dan, I appreciate your videos and your book FU Money, which I just finished!

My guess is that most of those 1300 daily new multimillionaires are created by the stock market and specifically from 3 March 2009 to present. It has been on a tear since the day it turned around on 9 March 2009. Had a passive investor - the person who will get THE WORST RETURNS, average at best - invested in 100 shares in the major indices, DIA, IWM, QQQ and SPY he or she would have done pretty well. 100 shares of DIA at that time cost $6,600, today? It's worth $24,100. Add in your approximate divis of $1,300 and you're up to $25,200. IWM cost $3,500 on 9 March 2009. Today they are worth $16,300 plus another $1,300 in divis over the period and you've got $17,600. Take the same 100 share investment in QQQ. It cost about $3,000. Today they are worth $17,000 and, again, add in $1,300 or so in divis and you have $18,300 . 100 shares of SPY would have cost about $6,700. Those same 100 shares trade for about $27,000. That doesn't include the approximate $400 per year in divis. So In SPY you're at $30,600. So an initial investment of, call it $20K is now valued at about $91K. Now, of course that's cherry picking dates, but hey, you're an idiot if you don't think that is what mutual funds do. NONE of them will show you their performance including dates before 2009. Also, those are not diversified investments. They all have a correlation of about .8, i.e. the move together for the most part. And yes, anyone who would have used conservative options strategies during that period alongside their long positions would have crushed the market returns so I'm not advocating passive investing at all. But, again, I will say that most of the millionaires are created from stock market wealth and not some crazy drive to be successful. You two are statistical outliers.
