It can be difficult to start out as a WordPress freelancer. How do you get first clients? How do you start to build up your client base? What can you do to connect to others in the WordPress community? We also started out as WordPress freelancers back in 2008/09, so I prepared a list of tips to help you get your WordPress freelancer career started.

Your video is well done and has some great ideas! One thing I did when I started my WordPress service in 2014 is I started my own networking group in the ocean beach neighborhood of San Diego. It has been a lot of work, but has paid off with leads and new clients and has also helped my social life!

Hi ellen nice video, i have a quiestion, how do you charge for a project specificatly hosting and domain is it the price incluide ? does the client pay it apart? thanks you

Thank you so much! we don't work with individual clients currently, since we sell our WordPress themes. I would say it depends on the project and client. I think offering an all in one package is the most convenient for smaller clients, who don't have staff taking care of the website later on.

Hi. Nice video. I'd like some advice plz. I learnt the basics of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery. Now I want to start Freelance Web Design for small local businesses using WordPress. I have been offered my 1st 3 months of managed WordPress hosting from Flywheel for free! Then I can pay before the 3 months are up. It's a Black Friday offer. Now I want to start using Google Maps to find clients who have no Website or with bad Website's. Then offer to build them a new Website, charge a set up fee then charge monthly to maintain it and so forth. I am confused and thinking of taking advantage of the black Friday sale to get DIVI. But I am not sure. Is this a good business idea? Will DIVI be enough for small local businesses that want a Mobile Responsive Website? Thank you.
