How to get started Vending at Pop Up Shops, Flea Markets, Outdoor Markets, Vintage Markets etc!

Im Back!!
Vending is one of my favorite things to do! Its an easy way to get quick cash and move inventory while at the same time meeting your customers and networking! Here are some basic tips for getting out there and get started vending!

Thanks for watching! I understand! I was so shy when I started but just a friendly greeting is an ice breaker. I also don't like to "hover" or helicopter around buyers because I personally don't like that as a buyer, so I keep it simple. Just a "hi, welcome!" and "let me know if you have any questions". Once they ask me questions is when I start getting chatty. Also having a friend with me helps get me out of my comfort zone.

I found them on offer up from a local business that was going out of business. You can also find them on Amazon just make sure they are heavy duty or industrial.

I’m sorry! I guess Im spoiled living in Southern California because I literally just see them pop up on my Instagram feed or tiktok. Honestly I would just google local flea markets to see if anything pops up. Also if there are any art walks or local festivals.

hey I was wondering if you think paying a vendor fee of 120$ is a lot or if there’s usually a lot of profit made ?

Hi! I think if it’s an established event that already has a lot of traffic and promo it’s ok but if it’s a new or first time event it’s kind of a gamble. Think of how many things you would need to sell to break even.

Thanks for watching. You just have to go find which flea market/vending event you're interested in and ask what the process is. Some bigger flea markets do ask for a business license, theres a small application and might require a re-sale certificate but I just signed up for a small flea market that literally only asked for a vendor fee.

Do I need to have a brand name in order to be a vendor? Or can I just sign up?

Most events don’t require you to carry a brand, if it’s a vintage flea market then you just need to carry vintage items. You can ask the coordinator when your signing up

@@Tania_VolverVintage I can see that video becoming boring since there’s many details involved . Maybe just cover it briefly on the surface like bring up highlights rather than the details. Maybe just focusing on the important things, or things you didn’t think you needed, things you learned, any challenges or road blocks, and tips rather than going through the whole paper work.

Usually not for small/local events. The only time I saw any type of licensing required was when it was an event thrown by the city or vending like at concerts/festivals.

😬 in the state of California You’re supposed to if you’re registered as a legal business. I have it auto-set for electronic payments. If you’re dealing with cash i forget to charge it 😉
