Was watching a mix engineer live and heard a fire tip that has been a game changer, compress your reverb and de-ess your delay sends. Theory being that sibilant sounds are very distracting and their is only room for one so always de ess vocal delays. Obviously it's to taste but it has really tightened my vocal effects even more. Great video thanks Wayne.

Using times like dotted eighth in the delay can create even more of a sense of movement. Some delays can also offer pitch changing lfo’s Which can create some cool atmospherics.

Depending on the mix, I like my delays too either fill in space or I lower the delay volume just to add more atmosphere to my mix

I use sidechain compression on delay or automate the send mute. I always use the 1/8 as well but never in ping pong will definitely try that.

I set the delay send to 0 then add a compressor after the H Delay and squash the crap out of it. Then I adjust the delay buss volume till its audible. Then I side chain the vox to the delay buss.
