Its interesting watching other professionals do the shag cut - they spend so long sectioning, measuring, carefully explaining each step but here she just casually grabs sections of hair and it still looks great!

Lip gloss was a bold choice when cutting your hair at home 😂😂
@zoebidule33973 жыл бұрын
??? I am French and do not understand this remark well. Lip gloss is always nice. So, what is the point of your comment ?
@em-td5qi3 жыл бұрын
@@zoebidule3397 hair gets stuck to lipgloss easily, like when the wind blows and it sticks to your lips, so when you’re cutting hair you have all those tiny pieces you’ve cut off that are falling and they’d get stuck in her lipgloss even more!
@taral78612 жыл бұрын
@@zoebidule3397 lol yes, lip gloss is nice, but lay a handful of the hair you cut on a counter, apply some lip gloss, then turn a fan on behind the hair facing you. You will understand perfectly. 👌😁😂
@taral78612 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing when she was picking hair off of her mouth. You can't wear sticky lip gloss when cutting your! 🙄😂

I am 51 and still have a bunch of super thick, wavyhair. I don't have the patience or minutes left in my life to section off half-inch pieces and gingerly cut into them for an hour just to see them curl up. I just used this video to do a quick touch-up and really like the results. I think if your hair is thick and wavy, it doesn't need to be sectioned off perfectly. Thank you for this no-nonsense tutorial!

I’m really anxious about going to the hairdressers, I feel like every time I go I come out and I hate the way my hair looks (last time I went I asked for layers and came out with half of my hair chopped off and 0 layers. That was the first time I went in 10 years) so this is super helpful to give me direction to cut it myself. Normally I just chop an inch or two off the ends but this helped me add some layers and life to my hair ♥️

Yes!! If we master the skill, we can control the outcome! I too have been so disappointed with many hairdressers.. 😵💫

You remind me of Carly Simon. She was a very famous singer when I was a teenager back in the days of rock and roll. Her most iconic haircut is a long shag. You can see her by searching for the video "That's the Way I've Always Heard it Should Be - 1971" to see her shag haircut and her singing. George Harrison of the Beatles was on guitar in that performance.

Omg I just love you! I just did pretty much the same thing a few weeks ago, and was thinking “who do I think I am?” I didn’t precisely section off, I didn’t necessarily grab the same amount of hair, I tried, but certain I didn’t succeed, then gave up on trying to “point cut” and like you, just cut straight across. I just wanted a more choppy look to my bob. I do have thinning shears, but didn’t know how to use them, and wasn’t sure if I should because I have fine thin hair. I just happened to come across your video, and your down to earth, just go for it approach was so refreshing. Thank you.
@LizDoesHairUtah3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! You are so kind. I'll usually use thinning shears even on fine hair just at the ends to make them wispier, but I am sure it still looks great.

I’ve been chopping the ends of my hair off with the side ponytails trick since the beginning of Covid instead of going to get my hair trimmed because I hate going to the salon. I have been wanting to try an actual style or giving myself layers, but I have been too scared. I can handle a slightly uneven haircut, but I don’t want to walk around looking like I ran into Edward Scissorhands. I’m scared, but this video makes it so tempting. I wish there was a way for people to post pics of their results in the comments from following this video. Shoutout to all you brave ones just going through with it!
