How to Glitter Glaze Paper Beads

There are several methods for making glitter paper beads, and I’ve covered several of them. However, this is the first time I’ve tried to make glitter glaze! It’s quite simple and you can use it to add shimmer to any style or color of paper beads.

Thanks for sharing another great tutorial Kelly! I've got LOTS of gorgeous glitters I use to sell many years ago that I've not played with yet on beads so this was a great reminder.

I have tons of colored embossing powders, many with glitter in them. Works great! It's my grandson's favorite way to finish off his beads (he's 11) !

@@ChellejonPaperBeadRollers … He’s been making paper beads for a few years now. He loves it. His twin brother did it for a while, but he’s not as much into crafting, lol. Jacob even did a mini tutorial on my channel showing how to make paper beads. He did awesome!! (Sorry, grandmother bragging here, lol)

Hi, Kelly. May I ask how do we keep our varnished paper beads from sticking together over time? Mine seems to get stuck together when I put it for storage, even when varnished and dried properly.

What are you using to glaze? Mod Podge tends to stick but Diamond Glaze and Triple Thick don't unless they aren't dry when you put store them.

Would you recommend the Scan N Cut machine for cutting paper strips?

Yes, I have both the Cricut and the ScanNCut and I find the ScanNCut MUCH easier to use for paper beads. It handles SVGs better as well.

Have you tried to glaze the underside of a sheet of paper before cutting strips? That way the inside of bead would hold up better if you are brushing on glaze rather than dipping.
