One of favorite memories of my grandparents’ garden was the apricot tree. Being a military brat I rarely saw, hardly got to know my grandparents. Their apricot seed was started by us kids while we were there visiting while fairly young. Years later we visited and that tree had a bumper crop😊❤. Especially like apricots. Just got some last week and plan to start the seeds for my grandchildren to plant on their land. Thanks for the video.

It looks like your plants are doing fine. Nice work! 👏 It is really up to you. Do you prefer to have a single trunk tree or a tree with split trunk? Usually for apricot, early branching is preferred and if you keep both branches as main trunks, the would be great too. If not, keep the strongest brach and trim the other one. The soil is seed starting mix (coco coir+perlite). Once they have 3-4 sets of leaves you can add light compost or small amount of fertilizer. Keep them in filtered sunlight, using a shade sloth or 3-4 hours of early morning sunlight, or part sun. Avoid hot midday sun. Hope this helps and thank you for visiting.

Keep the seeds in the regular (lower) part of the fridge to keep it cool, not the freezer part. You can put the in fridge right after you collect seeds. Start planting them either 1. after the cooling process and grow them indoor during winter, or 2. keep them in the refrigerator during winter and start planting in the spring time. I hope this answers your questions and thank you for visiting from Pakistan. happy gardening!

Found it....I'll leave this here. @TowardGarden 1 year ago (edited) It is because of a process called "Seed stratification". Stratification is a process of pre-treating seeds in order to mimic the natural conditions that seeds would experience in the soil over-winter. In other words, it is the act of simulating winter conditions - cold and moist - to prep seeds for their usual germination temperatures come spring. I hope this helps and thank you for visiting!

Barev, After keeping seeds in the refrigerator for 6 weeks (6 shabat), remove them and put them in moist towel at room temperature (20-25 C). The seedlings in the pots should be in some shade at 15-30 C. I hope this helps and thank you for visiting. Good luck! Շնորհակալություն.

The best is to use "locking pliers". Adjust the jaw so it just slightly pushes the shell. Hope it works for you and thank you for leaving a comment!

I prefer to put them tall side up on the flat bottom side of a mortar and pestle, and then tap it with the pestle while holding it in place with your fingers. Didn't break any that way.

So I had 6 apricot seeds that I grew, they're now comparable to your day 50 plants in this video. Out of nowhere, they're starting to die! Im down to four, soon to be 3 in a couple days as this next one is shriveling up pretty bad. I usually have a very green thumb, I cant figure out what im doing wrong! I washed my pots before reusing them for the apricots, I have great soil from my compost pile that everything else grows great in. They aren't root bound, nor do I over or underwater them. Any suggestions would be appreciated, but I'm starting to get discouraged with using seeds from any store bought fruit. I had honeydew and cantaloupe do the same thing. Got them to the point where they even started getting flowers on them, then they just start to shrivel up, wilt, and die! I'm so disappointed because I can usually grow anything with great success! Its humbling to say the least hahaha.

Sorry to hear that. It is hard to tell without seeing what is going on but if you water them daily, then probably there is something going on the soil effecting the roots. Remove some soil around roots to see if you can notice any bug/worm activity. You can either use systemic pesticide to drench the soil, or scatter Food grade diatomaceous earth ( amzn.to/3YL9MJf ) around stem on the soil and water. And sometimes it is fungal disease effecting the roots. Mikro-Root amzn.to/483rR9m or Mikrobs amzn.to/480Aj9r might help. Hope your plants will thrive. Good luck.
