Thanks for this video! I planted my black beauty last year but it didn’t grow enough or produce. I brought it in and overwintered it in my front window, I put her out after the frost and once I saw bees in a sunny spot and now I have eggplants galore!! The deer ate all of my flowers last night so I’ll have to find a safer spot for her.

I don’t thin mine out but I pull out small ones to eat and let others grow on to become bigger plants 🌱 but then I sow them differently to 😊not as thickly

Somehow this made planting basil seeds feel less overwhelming. Someone I work with gifted everyone plantable stationery on her birthday (which is wonderful) I was impatient so I took the seeds out and I’ve sowed them. Hoping for the best!

My indoor corn seedlings just die off at about 15-20cm, Direct sow they grow like crazy, what culd be the problem. This only happens to corn. Got the right temp soil etc, the only thing I can think of is the light, do I need artificial light?

What liquid fertilizer do you use? Do you mix it with something and how is it applied to the seedlings? Thanks :)
@TowardGarden2 күн бұрын
I usually use fish fertilizer (5-1-1) to feed seedlings, about 1oz per gallon of water. You can check my video here where I show how to water/fertilize seedlings kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d6-VnKVklt-peqs.htmlsi=DXBZskS_HGTYCmbg . Thank you for getting in touch! 😊

Absolutely. When adding the fertilizer, just mix it into the added soil. You can also use liquid fertilizers (any tomato water soluble is ok) for a quicker effect. Happy growing and thank you for visiting.

I need to know about the soil type and also when you put seeds in pots what are the conditions needed (shadow/semi-shadow/sun)
@TowardGarden2 күн бұрын
The soil is seed starting mix (coco coir+perlite). Once they have 3-4 sets of leaves you can add light compost or small amount of fertilizer. Keep them in filtered sunlight, using a shade sloth or 3-4 hours of early morning sunlight, or part sun. Avoid hot midday sun. Hope this helps and thank you for visiting.

@@TowardGarden I'm learning to garden as part of my retirement plan, and it's almost hilarious how little I know. I'm constantly watching gardening videos now, and I really appreciate every bit of wisdom I find. Videos are so time consuming to make, and I appreciate them so much.

A few weeks a go I planted bell peppers from store bought bell peppers. I didnt realized seeds fell inside of my lemon plant. The bell pepperplant grew very fast and strong and now I have small cute bell peppers. I am so excited to see them get bigger and hopefully they are red. I am so amazed with the results. Do I have to remove the lemon plant I feel because of the lemon plant it grew fast. Pls let me know. Thank you for sharing the video.
@TowardGarden2 күн бұрын
I don't think growing fast is because of the lemon plant. If they are both in a container, then probably there is no room for both. Specially if the pot is not large enough, one will grow ok and the other will suffer. If planted in growing, then it should be ok. Happy growing and thank you for visiting.

Great video, as always! Can I please ask about the compost? Can you explain the 2nd stage and how you set that up?
@TowardGarden2 күн бұрын
Glad to hear it. The 2nd stage is for compost that has somewhat broken down and not as raw as un-processed material. I have few worms in 2nd bin too (optional) with added a duct in the middle for aeration. This helps with reducing mixing effort. It usually takes few months depending on the weather and condition to be ready. I will try to make a video on how I make my compost. Hope this helps and thank you so much for your comment!

Great suggestion! I have started lavender from seeds in my garden many times. I 'll try to gather the clips and come up with a video. I agree, it is very tricky, not only the germination, but also getting them to grow. Stay tuned and thank you so much for your comment!

@TowardGarden2 күн бұрын
I do spray from time to time, only if needed. I check plants daily and with the first sign of pests, I spray Spinosad mix amzn.to/4bekyNx or neem oil mix amzn.to/4bdTE8L . Hope this helps and thank you for visiting!
