I miss living on a farm. Grew up on one. In my 60's now I live in the country but no farm animals. Just can't take the country out of me! Just a country girl as my best friend told me.

I want to propagate and overwinter petunias at the end of this growing season. I live in Colorado and I don't have a greenhouse. Can I take cuttings at the end of the summer and use grow lights in a cool basement room in my home? Do they need heat and light or just light? I would guess my basement room is around 55-60 degrees in the wintertime.

I would try to get them cut and roots started before placing downstairs. Mine rooted in 2-3 weeks. As long as they have light and don’t freeze, they could make it. I keep mine in the green house over winter and only add heat when it’s below freezing. Almost all of my basket’s survived. Good luck and let me know how it works for you.

I have a empty spare bedroom that is a tad cool and it gets plenty of light during the day but I am also going to put my grow lights on them and hopefully it will work out for me.

@thissuitsus4856 I am sorry. I shall be more simple for you. The picture in your thumbnail (the picture advertising your video) has flowers. The video is supposedly about propagating petunias (as per the title of your video). The flowers on the thumbnail are NOT PETUNIAS. The flowers are Calibrachoas. The end

Also they are both in the Solanacea family with many botanist saying that Calibrachoas are petunias.
