Everything you put out is incredibly useful & this one is no exception! I clicked on it bc I’ve tried growing rosemary for YEARS. I just can’t keep one alive more than a year & here u are with rosemary growing WILD! I bought a small plant a few months back that I haven’t unalived yet so I’m going to see if I can pull a Robbie & get this girl some family- maybe thats all they needed this whole time, we’ll see! Thanks Robbie!

Glad it was helpful! And if you live in a very cool area, take some cuttings and root them and keep them in the house throughout the late fall into winter and then put them out in a pot later on when it starts to warm up

Couldn't wait to tell you - today, Monday April 8th at 8:00 am, I saw my FIRST HUMMINGBIRD at one of my feeders!!!!! About 10 minutes later he returned. Definitely made my day... North/Middle Tennessee. Unfortunately, Rosemary is an annual here. It definitely doesn't like our winters. If all I have to do is take a cutting and stick it in a pot, I'm ready to make a lot of Rosemary for this year's garden. I have an inside Rosemary plant I'll use for this. Thanks for this info!

I lose my rosemary plants almost every year. I'm in 6 & they can't over winter. I'll be doing this from the ones I have inside! Thank you. My chickens thank you, too!

Thank you! I have never grown rosemary. I need to buy a plant and do this so I can have more lol. I don't remember seeing lavender in any of your videos, but if you have any pointers on it, I sure could use them. I have tried growing it from seed, but I have never been successful at it. ❤😊😊❤

I’ll bet I could do the same thing with Lavender. I just cut some stems off my Rosemary plant. I want to keep it going. I don’t have great luck with them here in Portland area. I bought one before Christmas that is looking good. I brought it inside when Weather got really cold in January. I grew celery that made it through the winter too. It is planted in Dollar Tree waste container like you showed. It tastes so much better than store bought. Not big stems but I like to snip off tops for soups, stews and salads. You have given me so many great ideas and inspiration. Love you and Gary!! ❤❤

They are surprisingly easy to propagate. I used vermiculite in small containers. The plant has to be in pretty good shape. A few weeks later I tried more when the first ones worked so well. Unfortunately, the weather got too cold and the plant was dying so those didn't take.. I did use rooting hormone. Good to know it's not necessary. Thanks for the info.

Am starting a lots of my seeds in the double cup method, my window sill is narrow width but wide enough to set my cups on it. Thank you for the tip on propagating rosemary.

Hey Par! Can you believe that 7 yrs ago I had to pull out an established rosemary just so hubs could expand our deck? Oh sure... I got another one going and it's going well, but the struggle was real. The girl was a beautiful beast! So I love this video as I'd been trying to root more in water but..idk...it kept drowning or something [ie rot] but Robbie made this accessible for me so THIS season [Tonight probably since we're now w/ low 50 evenings] I'm taking cuttings & employing the two cup system & WILL have more rosemary plants! Cheers friend!

It does like warmer weather, so if you’re growing it in cooler places, put it in a pot and either bring it in a nice sheltered place for the winter or take cuttings and keep it in the house throughout the winter ❤

I just bought a gallon size from HD last week. I had a huge one but it died because it was in a pot and I neglected it. The pot was on pavers so it couldn’t stretch its roots into the soil. I have the new one in the ground.

I found a little piece of elephant plant that had fallen off in the potting soil when i transplanted it to a larger pot. The tiny piece was still alive so I stuck it in a pot today to see if it will root and grow.

I prefer to propagate in soils what I do is make holes on disposable plastic cups or use small nursery pots insert the pot in resealable bags. In about 3 weeks I have roots and I remove the pots from the bag and let them acclimate . I prefer soft wood but I haven’t tried hard wood yet

I think rosemary likes poor soil, like lavender. I need more rosemary because i love wrens😊

@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy we do have wrens here, every now and then I see one, I hear them. Once one was in my have a heart trap (for the squirrels, they get taken on a car trip far away if we get one). I let the wren out and it sang for me. Need to look what nesting box to get and find a spot where the squirrels can't get to!

Well Robbie guess what we are all very envious of all your plants and beautiful gardens but our climate does not allow us to grow anything without a greenhouse! In BC Canada with global warming we will be looking forward to the ice caps creating terrible cold weather in June July so be thankful you are not under an ice cap!

What do you think about rooting them, not in potting mix, but peat moss or coir? I took some cutting (butterfly bush; buddleia) a couple weeks ago and had a cup of coir hanging about and put a few in there. Good idea or no? Should I move them to potting mix? Thanks Robbie!

Hi Robbie. I have a question ❓ not for myself but for a friend of mine. She wants to grow an apple tree but her ground is very rocky and mining. They mined her property years ago. When she lifts up anything on the ground that should have worms there, there isn't anything there at all. So my question ❓ can she take a tote and put store bought soil in that tote and add her own worms??? Would the tree grow??? I'm sry I know this doesn't pertain to growing rosemary but I didn't know where to put this question at... Thanks Robbie in advance
