Thank you very much for this info. I was using the eye hole at the wrong rotation. And it kept putting extra forces on it. Thank you for the video. I wish it was easy as just asking what orientation the eye hole should be at. But I did not find the answer that way

Are swivel hoist rings only available with the included allen-head cap screws? What if one were to have an off-angle application requiring the eye to be fastened with a long through-bolt, or even a lag bolt?

I need to know what a screw that looks like an eye bolt but the “Eye” part is flat. I have an Echo Bike and I snapped the bolt on the front end. I can’t seem to find that kind of screw anywhere. Can anyone help?

My guess is the entire load is on a single wire rope. In effect, you're pulling the load up with a single cable from the center of the object.

8:35 "Never rig a cable between two eye bolts". What's the reasoning for this, which is presented as an absolute rule - never? I'm struggling to imagine.

I can think of three reasons. In increasing order of significance: 1) The load angle in this situation is probably not what you think it is at first glance, and reduces the working load limit in a way which is probably unexpected, both in terms of the bolt strength and in terms of the force on the cable. You can see in the video how much the bolts are being pulled in toward the middle when weight is put on them. (If you remember your high school physics, you might draw out the force vectors and see why this is.) 2) For slightly unbalanced loads, this effect is even worse, since one bolt effectively suffers a more severe load angle, and is also taking on the majority of the total load. 3) For even more unbalanced loads--once the centre of mass gets outside one of the bolts (roughly)--the whole system is unstable, and the load can flip on its side and drop pretty hard with little warning.
