Another great video filled with tips and racer insights. Feeling and reacting to the kite and feeling the moment to get the new back foot into the strap were especially good.

Another great video! Daniela, with your experience you can create a lot of content. KZfaq lacks race technique and gear comparison videos for sure. Even we started thinking to fill this gap as there is nothing new. Another advice, please include a few more variations than one perfect tack/gybe ;).

Thank you so much for the helpful and very detailed explanations of the turns. As an idea for a possible next video would be sitting down on the board or changing feets back after a frontside gybe riding toeside afterwards.

Great instructional videos. I noticed one thing from the film that you didn't mention verbally that seems important. I haven't managed a foot change on foil yet but I'm not giving up....one problem I've had is while headed fairly far downwind and having placed my back foot to the front, my kite is high and my hands follow it up. This leads to me getting too far back and falling off the back of the board. I notice you push the bar out and down which keeps your weight more forward and gives more counter balance. This kind of position with the bar is unusual I think, so not something that comes naturally but it makes a lot of sense to help with both forward positioning and overall balance. Don't know what you think, but it might be worth mentioning in a future add on to this video. We're all so focused on our feet, but I think at that point in the gybe keeping the hands away from your body and down really helps the feet. Keep up the good work you've got a great format and teaching style.

hi Daniela, would also like to see part 2 like Brian. maybe you can also explain why the kite tip collapses on the down side at the exit of the gibe. Happens to often. Thanks. Keep it up. Greetings from Central Switzerland.

Thanks v much Daniela, would you please explain more how to train the feet movements you said helps? I train doing it on the water, but there is a huge gap in difficulties of doing in the air. Thus, toe side I do with inflatable, but not with my R1V3

Great video. But what I cannot figure out is what magic permits you to have both feet on the front of the board for more than 1.2 microseconds. I can usually switch my feet in horrible ways that involve a lot of steps, or occasionally in a single "jump" that basically swaps both feet instantly. But this magic of stepping your rear foot forward and then your forward foot back I'm convinced is CGI. If I promise not to tell anyone, will you share that secret with me?

The kite should pull you up so that you are more or less weightless. It’s easier with foil kites as they have more pull on the harness, less on the handlebar

Great video thanks. Question for you, do you ever take the kite over the top of the window, or do you always downloop?

At 3:11 you pull the bar to the right (still sheeting out). Can you explain that? I'm doing it myself when riding waves, but I never really figured out why. I think it has something to do with to get some extra yaw movement. Or is it just a balancing thing? I would love to hear your explanation for it :-)

Hi. Thanks for this video. When you say, in lighter wind head upwind a little bit - are you switching feet also when the board is still a little upwind? And why? Is it because you want to maintain line tension? And what position is the kite at the moment you switch feet? I feel it can be done in a few different kite positions, hence double checking with you. Thanks.

You make it look so easy! Any chance Part 2 will contain common errors with video clips? My biggest problem is getting the kite to complete the loop before hitting the water. I feel like I'm chasing the kite when I turn the board downwind, slacking the lines and losing the ability to finish turning the kite. Splash!!! 12m Diablo V2 Moses 645/425 15m lines 10-16 kts
@SimcoeAce
@SimcoeAce 4 жыл бұрын
My advice based on my own similar problem: especially when you're not too powered, hold the bar with one hand right at the end & crank it hard to make sure it comes around.
@beebopbogo
@beebopbogo 4 жыл бұрын
@@SimcoeAce I suspect my issue is timing. I can gybe successfully, but only by pulling the turning line excessively which almost stalls the kite and is very inefficient! I'm hoping to see some videos of common mistakes to see if anything looks familiar! Turning the board too early? Turning the board too fast? Kite not high enough before the down loop? Too much depower? Bridle out of trim? If I figure it out, I'll post back ;)

Do you do this professional? Practice every day? Just ask because here in Thailand is a China Foil racing team practicing every day many hours about half year already. If kitefoil will be Olympic in 2024 is still long time. For me I still beginner and can’t ride up on the foil if toeside. So I U-turn with board flat on water and practice foot switch right now. Thanks for VDO.

Merci
