Was working a propane storage yard job with my dad as his prepper. He said something stupid and pissed me off so I doubled the bevel angle on the next few pieces. (It's been years, but I think it was 8 or 10" heavy wall for liquid propane.) He got the point and didn't do it again.

I like to use a 1/2 round file on the i.s.(inside). Get the rust off & (removing the thin "skin" on the i.s. of the land). Now the true size of the land will be had. Will have to sand the land again to get the landing to the desired thickness (b/c the file has taken off the thin "skin" that makes the land narrower).

Done this on stainless steel pipe. As long as it's cut straight. Pretty easy.
