Do love these videos, actually very informative but cant watch one without cracking up! I have tried installing a vertical fl as t panel rad recently but one installed there is excess movement back and forth where the rad moves on the brackets themself. Dont know if I've done something wrong or if it's just the cheapo ebay rad

hi p.p, ace vid as always mate!!! I hung one simulator to yours but I marked out top bracket s same as you did then hung rad off just top brackes,offered up bottom brackes up marked wall,removd rad,then drilled and fitted brackets and hung rad...it worked out well,whats your thoughts on this method pp? love your vid,top man.....
@taitlawrence

So if the bracket sits 10mm higher than the bottom of the radiator would you not position it 10mm above the bottom of the radiator line to get the radiator to finish on its line? Putting it 10mm below the bottom of the radiator line would hang the rad 20mm below the line ? Unless I've picked you up wrong ? My rule of thumb is whatever the distance between the bottom of the bracket and the floor is means if you fitted your bracket at that height the radiator would sit flush on the floor so you would then add the height of the skirting or whatever to get it to finish at that level.

Sounds like Cobb? If your going to be hanging a rad on it you want to make some wooden spikes (around 8 inches long and about an inch wide and hammer those into the wall by drilling a hole thats smaller than the spike and then using a lump hammer to drive them in and hang the rad on those.

There is a lot of pipe compared to the radiator. Is there any other way of doing it? Do you think a longer radiator would have looked better under that window?
@Kalabenos

In The Netherlands radiators are usually connected using the top and bottom connections on one side. Although it's less symmetric, I think it's a much cleaner look.

Well done on the live video. I've got some great tips from you over the past 6 months or so, sorry I don't know what video to put this comment on so I've used the latest one, I hope you don't mind. I have an emergency issue and I need a quick fix for a couple of days. I have my own well and the 50 Lt pressure vessel has just burst, the well is feeding a 900 Lt potable water tank but I need to bypass the pressure switch and vessel until I get a new vessel on Monday. I've bypassed the vessel but the deep well pump will not turn on, I'm sure it's something to do with the Hi/Low pressure switch or the control box. Can you help Please. Eric

plumberparts . Hi, what's the best way to add a radiator without getting an air lock in the system. The system I'm working on has 17 rads, And has an air lock the last time I worked on it. I didn't know how to get rid of the air in the boiler.

That rad seems very high,Also could you not have cut a section of the floor and move the pipe work and have them coming straight up
@B17NNS
@B17NNS 5 жыл бұрын
Pipework (whilst neat as always) really needs to be chopped into the wall. It's akin to having your sparky fit designer faceplates to all your switches and sockets and surface running the rewire in plastic capping.

Cool adirator. I must say I cringed a little bit when you took the center-to-center measurement from the actual "centers" for them brackets.... it's so much easier and more precise to measure from edge to edge.
@daleprosser350
@daleprosser350 4 жыл бұрын
He Ka true, that’s a good tip which I don’t think many people realise, edge to edge = center to center as long as the diameters are the same, it’s valuable info to know that, makes things a lot simpler and negates errors

Whats wrong with lifting a trap in floor and running pipes straight in chrome. You went to expense of TRV4's not that you can tell putting the head on wrong way around (aren't they paying you?) #RUDERAD lol
@plumberparts
@plumberparts 6 жыл бұрын
In all honestly the TRV had a scuff on it! Also, I didn't know what size rad was going in....so first fixed up like that for the pipework, plus underneath the floor was a myriad of beams and crap all coming together just there. I guess it's hard from your computer/phone to see when watching, but hopefully that's clarified it! :D

yeah.. i agree im really surprised this installation was done like this. i dont normally fault his work because i cant but pipes out the wall above the skirting are the only way for designer rads like that. and bring them out tighter if you dont know the rad size
@plumberparts
@plumberparts 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Tobi, it's so easy with hindsight and from your computer to just type that comment out! I didn't know at the time of first fix that we'd be putting insualted back board on the walls, bringing out the wall by nearly 30mm...killing my depth for skirting. I'll get round it though....somehow!
