I always thought you marked a certain length off the floor so it does not drag. Does this not drag or touch the floor??? Please help...

Hi Vicki! Thank you for asking! It's really personal preference. Some women like it just to touch the ground and some like it to be a quarter to half inch (or more) above the ground.

What if you have a train?

Hi! Thanks for asking! If you're cutting it off completely, then you'd follow the video, pinning even with the floor as it shows. If you are keeping the train, you'll start tapering your marks at the side seams. So, your side seams may be a bit longer and the from your side seams, you'd taper into the curve. Stephanie says that sometimes she'll just skim off the manufactured hem around the train area so that she has flat fabric and can hem all the way around with one continuous hem (this just barely shortens the train depending on the manufactured hem that was there before). Hopefully that makes sense!
