My biggest issue is lack of flexibility, so end up doing some things in my swing to and make up for it, but Marks tips definitely helps

Great video. I’m having lessons at the moment but working on the exact thing, but now that I’m making a full turn trying to get shoulder onto my lead foot I struggle to re Centre and I’ve started topping everything!!

It's a beautiful swing. The only comment I would make is on the (perhaps) casual choice of wording, which might lead the beginner astray. You say (as you make the big turn) "get that club up and BEHIND you". I would strenuously argue that "behind" is a really unfortunate choice of vocabulary here. We don't really want *anything* "behind" us, do we? In fact your club, viewed down the line, looks just a tad behind you, but that, I think, is a 2D optical illusion that isn't happening in 3D, yes? Certainly your hands are not "behind" you, nor your arms. They are in front of your (very nicely) turned body. (exact reference in the video is at the 3:25 frame) It's just a word of course. "Behind." But shouldn't we come up with a better description of what we are trying to do? Am I wrong about this? I would love to rent your swing for 18. :)

Hey Mark, another great video! Does the first tip (pointing left shoulder to the back foot) help with irons too?

Yes, you need shoulder tilts/turn with them to, level shoulders through the swing is a recipe for disaster.

I noticed when I do the shoulder over toes my ball goes kind of flat. It doesn’t get much air under it. Any fixes you can think of?

I paid well over $350 for a few lessons that described exactly this. Although I do find I hit it a bit too far left now as a result!

Mark - I’ve been practicing my fundamentals a lot. My swing looks a lot better now. One problem I am stumped on is that in order not to hit off very toe of club is to feel like I have to absolutely throw my arms out in front of me. I think I’m leaning back on down swing. Could you cover this?

One! OK, the rule changed, but can anyone resist when someone taps their ball off a tee? Seriously, though, great video. I think I've been focusing too much on turning and tilting, but trying to keep my body above the ball instead of allowing my torso to move back. From what I see you do, that lack of movement leads to being too far forward when the downswing starts and forces an over the top motion to make contact.

Lead with the heel of the club into the ball. It should straighten it out, maybe even make you fade it. Pulls aren't bad, but hooks are.
@DanB-
@DanB- 11 ай бұрын
Dont listen to @dsc-nr5zy for starters. This drill video will help with your problem to, its aim is to change start line and lessen curvature. Snap hooks and big pulls are caused by the same problems as slicing, the only difference is you are hitting with a closed face and not an open one which gives the slice. The swing path for both is the problem which this video shows you how to correct. Both a pull and slice use the same swing path, its just the face being closed/open to the path that then determines the outcome.

@danb2884 my man, I guarantee you that the guy I am replying to isn't cutting across the ball. And I would also bet he hasn't hit a slice in ages. There's only one way to hit a slice or cut: face open to path.
@DanB-
@DanB- 11 ай бұрын
@@dsc-nr5zy ..... A pull/snap hook is usually from swing out to in(left of target for a right hander) ie as you put it cutting across the ball, the only difference from slicing is from face angle. Without seeing the swing etc its only generalising but this and many more of the "stop slices or "over the top" videos will also help people with pulls and snap hooks as swing path is a big problem, hence all the videos from the top guys talking about the problems with backswing, flared trail elbow, shoulder tilt etc Dont listen to me its fine, im done here, but I can assure no coach in the world will say lead with the heel of the club to straighten shots out...........

@danb2884 If someone is 10 inside out and face angle is 0 (assume center strike), what is the shot going to be? Now assume same path, change the face angle to -4. Then to +5. What are those shots?

Massive - I was teached for 20 years ago to restrict my hips. So totally freeze my hips and then turn - I really struggle to make this kind of movement. 20 years of bad swing ideas takes time

Well ya know, just KEEPING YOUR HEAD STILL promotes a good/proper shoulder and hip turn. Thus minimizes/eliminates swaying. It's about keeping it simple, and this is about as simple as it gets.
