I’ve seen question on how to adjust the IAC position percentage on a few forums on a Holley Sniper. I figured I would try to put out a how to using the experience I’ve had with my sniper on my 69 Pontiac Firebird with a Pontiac 400 in it as well as many other installs and adjustment I’ve done on other cars as well. Hope it helps some people out.

Great Video! New Subscriber to your channel. I have a 1969 Firebird 400 with the factory style Q-jet, It runs good but having to prime the car to start it. Thinking of switching to the sniper for start/runability & efficiency. Are you overall happy with the unit?

I’m very happy with the sniper. Before I got mine, I had installed a few at the shop I worked at in San Diego. So I was confident in the quality of them. They have their quirks, just like any fuel system but it’s been the best and easiest to deal with that I’ve worked with. Also, most of the problems with the sniper 1 have been fixed with the new sniper 2 from what I hear from my buddy who has installed a couple of the new ones now. I haven’t dealt with the sniper 2 yet but I’ve only heard positive things so far about them. The throttle response is amazing and I get between 22-25 MPG out of my 400 with a Tremec TKO 5 speed behind it. The problems I’ve had with it have been relatively easy to fix. The sticking secondaries have been resolved in the sniper 2 from what I’ve heard and the only other issue I had was I had an injector go bad. Me being a mechanic, diagnosed it and tried getting just a new injector from Holley but they wanted me to send the whole unit it. I ended up finding an injector on summit that was the same specs and didn’t have to wait for them to trouble shoot what I already knew. Those are the experiences I’ve had with it. Other than that just driving fun. I think I’m up to about 4 years with it now. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching and I appreciate the comment and questions!

I don’t use my FJ40 Land Cruiser daily. When it sits for a week or more it cranks 20-30 seconds at a time for 3-4 tries and then eventually springs to life. The Holley Sniper takes 5 seconds for the fuel charge…and then it starts instantly…WOW

It really is a good system. The few issues I’ve had over the years with mine have been easy enough to work out and the throttle response and increased fuel mileage was amazing. Before I had the sniper I had a 650 carb with vacuum secondaries and I could never get it dialed in right. It would actually lean out above 4000 RPM. It may have been too small for my setup or just really needed some extensive time to dial it in but the sniper just made it so much easier.
