I'll show you my trick to hotwire or test to see if your fan works on your Polaris Sportsman, Scrambler or Xplorer.

Thats what I thought you were doing but wanted to make sure - Great easy fix - FYI - If you dont want to tax your battery so much you can put a Capacitor inbetween the fan and battery at the connector ( just a small one since it doesnt draw to many amps - Then as the bike runs the Capacitor charges and then stores that power to be released when needed that way you can adapt a toggel switch if you wanted to turn it on or off when needed and it will store the energy and release it when needed and won't tax the battery so much since the amount of energy it takes to charge the capicitor is less and the amount of energy you get out over time is lengthened and steady charge. Just an idea ( Take it for what it's worth ). This hotwire works perfect - 1998 Polaris Sportsman 500. Great job keep it up.

I was wondering if it would be draining the battery. I had to think of something temporary as I wait for a new sensor. I was going to make a jumper cable, but as I went through my electric box I found a on/off switch that fits perfectly in the plug. Even though I had it switched to off, I think it still drained my battery overnight so now I just plug it in an leave the fan on as I ride. Would that damage anything to leave it on?

Love the videos. I used the a ton rebuilding my 99 polaris sportsman 335. Does the fan bypass work for all the fans ie, radiator fan as well as the oil cooler fan? Ive got everything working and running except for the fan and the killswitch which i have a wire to ground it out for now. Again thanks for the informative videos.

Never tried it. As long as you have direct power to the fan it should work.

I have 2001 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO that I am working on. I have replaced both the fan and cylinder head sensors, thermostat and have just ordered a new radiator cap. I did wire the fan to a battery charger and the fan motor runs fine. Any ideas on what else to check next? My research tells me that a water pump replacement is unlikely but who knows I may be the lucky one who is the exception rather than the rule. The temperature light comes on after a mile or so. Thanks in advance fo any suggestions you can give.

Clean the radiator or possibly a new one. Had that problem a couple times. Had to replace the rad

If you do extensive trail riding I wouldn't do it. The fan could burn out and you wouldn't know it till the head blew.

I have a Jaguar 504x for and the fan is not working I got it home from my buddy's house in the fan won't kick on in the radiator overheating

Will it work if you bypass the tempeture sensor? If not your fan is shot or the sensor is bad.

What is the best way to fix the O" ring exhaust leak on a 99 sportsman 500. I put a new one on it and it didn't last no time....leaking again....

New springs. You are talking about the exhaust doughnut correct?

Thank you for replying and also...all of the bushings on the A arm's are completely gone so It needs a whole complete new bushing replacement kit.. any recommendations on who or where to order a kit from?

First great videos!!! I have a 98 sportsman 500 im stumped on lil history unfortunately i sunk it twice since then ive put new headgasket old one was leaking new fuel pump new carb boot and carb (its the 500 ho carb boot and the ho carb next step is a new 500 ho cam so it should in theory be a ho then) the problem is it will idel fine then start to idel high. When it first starts up at about 3/4 to full throttle it will spit and stutter but go away as is just getting air out the lines but i can ride it all day no priblem until i cut it off then it may take 5 mins to maybe taking the plug out and cleaning it ( blackened soot from the bigger carb im sure) to maybe having to put a new one on! I literally tried for 2 hours yesterday to start it back up and wouldnt walked out today and it fired right up cut it off fired up after a few moments to not cranking! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!!

And on the head gasket i put on i was getting back pressure into the radiator i did check the head to see if it had any kind of wobble to the best i could tell it didnt but still have a lil back pressure in it read somewhere it could be the water pump bearing seal leaking letting crankcase pressure in it im not getting water in my oil though wouldnt it flow into it while it wasnt running?

You you'll have to. Check out my channel.I have lots of videos engine rebuild, carb, H.O.conversion. sounds like its running rich and the head gasket has a leak. I've had that problem. Is the plug black and wet? Look down the cylinder if you can. See if its wet at all

@@TitaniummanGarage im a subscri er to tour channal im always going through your videos to find what i cant figure out i thkught head gasket leaking but heres the catch ln that unless i go full throttle it wont back pressure and blow out the over flow if i just cruise around theres no problem only full throttle yes the plug is black and wet from the flooding i never had a problem with it cranking until my fuel pump went out then the carb started messing up so just bought the ho carb and boot and i say a problem i put a new plug in it fires straight up

@@TitaniummanGarage i can put a new plug in crank it up cruise around get on a good stretch open it up full throttle and i can feel what i assume is it over loading with fuel i can let out just a hair and it lose the small bog but i can also stay in it and it will have that small bog for about 5 seconds then burn it out and start getting full power and still has plenty of power i get out of it at about 55mph so im guessing i need to check the jug on it this time around when i do new head gasket

@@elziewinters5513 I had a thought after I messaged you. Have you checked the radiator to see if its plugged with mud. That will cause that issue too. Is the H.O. carb an aftermarket? I bought one and it dumped too much fuel in the engine.I threw it in the garbage. Have you tried the mixture screw yet? 2 turns out unless your in higher altitude.
