Today i came across a Korean War M1 with a 1983 type 1 liner. My wife went back and bought it for $125 which i think considering the age of the liner is too high. Of course she didnt know that and neither did the antique store guy, And when I was there all I could tell was it was all post war, so it's alright. I can be on the lookout for a Korean War liner, and it's my first US helmet so I'm stoked. First M1 as a Christmas present from the wife is a win no matter how you cut it.

I'm not acollector but, I picked up a Korean War liner at a Goodwill in their Halloween section for under $5. It has a label that says Westinghouse Micarta 1952 with the original webbing (minus one piece) and an after market (made in Japan) sweat band. It also has the grommet in front.

@@johnfleffeBay has a lot but the catch is a lot of falsely labeled or have been tampered with. You’ll have to know what to look for. Circa1941 has a lot of ww2 helmets. Late ww2 helmets would’ve been liable to be refitted and reissued so that would be a way to get the real deal ww2 m1.

great video. the molds left over are the actual molds used to press the liner shells. i dont know if any liner shells were left over, never heard that one before. the only thing id add is that 1964 and later marmac liners have a large black number inkstamped on the webbing after the nomenclature. firestone has a yellow number inkstamped on the inside skirt somewhere, and westinhouse has a white inkstamp number somewhere on the inside skirt.

I have a post 1955 M1 liner with CAPAC and Westinghouse markings. Sadly it was reworked by a reanactor and given WW2 stlye OD3 webbing but it still has a 0D7 neck strap. Its sweatbandbis from 1979. The liner came with a WW2 era rear seam McCord helmet with Vietnam era paint and a name. Sadly the helmet is missing its neck strap but it cam with a Vietnam cover made in 1965. Also the M1 helmets stamp is 914A, so when would have the M1 helmet been made.

I have a firestone liner inside a parish M1 shell (heat stamp 9041 or 0041- can’t make out first digit). The liner has black ink stamp on the inside of hard hat (not the cloth band) that says (Combat type 1 27 Oct 72). What are the odds the M1 helmet and/or the liner were used in Vietnam?
@JonBoyMilitaria

With the date of 1972 in the liner, it's unlikely it was worn in Vietnam. The helmet itself may have been worn with a different liner that had to be replaced with the liner that it has now after the war.

Unfortunately, the helmet did not come with a liner, I'm curious to know if you could help me look for a WW2 liner within the price range of 10-30$ if not, please feel free to still link a site where I could purchase one if you can, thanks in advance! (Side question, I found a post WW2 liner for 5 dollars on Ebay and I'm curious to know if a post war liner would fit it, thanks in advance once again!)

Hey, thanks for reaching out. Honestly, I would check ebay and see if you could find something in your price range. Most militaria has gone up big time in price. You may be able to find a Ww2 liner in average condition for your price range but if you are wanting a really good example then it can get really pricey. But keep on looking and I'm sure that you will find a nice liner for your helmet.

Also just some general info on it if you can find some. Edit: The "VB" is connected with the back of the B being the right side of the V making it like one letter if that makes sense.
