We’re Matt & Karla, a Canadian couple with two totally different backgrounds.
Matt is the “quintessentially Canadian”, born under the northern lights in Northern Alberta with family all over the country, whereas Karla is originally from Mexico City, bringing a totally fresh perspective to a country she has fallen in love with.
Over the past 10 years, we have travelled to 42 countries spanning six continents, which has given us the expertise to plan amazing trips and find memorable experiences.
In 2017, we decided to explore our own massive backyard with Road to 150, a 150-day #roadtrip across #Canada, witnessing the beauty and diversity of this country and sharing our experiences through video, pictures, social media, and articles. Since then, we’ve helped thousands of Canadians and travellers worldwide make the most of every Canadian experience.

I sponsored my wife to immigrate to Canada. We knew which path to take, so we didn't use an immigration consultant. I filled out all the paperwork myself, though we did have to get some help in my wife's country to expedite some of the prerequisite documents. It took a year just to get the paperwork together, and just over a year after that to get her permanent residency.

I visited Canada as a tourist so long. I have a few friends there! I am a German Citizen in the age of 65. I have worked 47 years as an underwriter in one of the biggest insurance companies of the world and now I am in retirement. My whole family lives in Germany. I am to old now to immigrate to Canada. But I love this country very much!👍❤️🇩🇪I will come back as a Tourist to Canada!

If anyone wants to immigrate to British Columbia, we have a shortage of nurses and the local government appears to be open to foreign applicants. Especially because 1/3 of BC nurses want to quit their profession due to burnout from the fabulous job they did during Covid and it’s variants. From one of CBC Radio One’s interviews with Adrian Dix, Minister of Health, nurses are now able to convert their degrees with on the job experience. This is a great opportunity for anyone with a nursing degree to have their application fast tracked.

Wow, thanks for sharing. Pretty sad that they feel the need to quit. Here in Alberta, they're laying some off. Go figure

@@MustDoCanada I should add for those considering applying, the cost of living in BC is the highest in Canada. A tiny one bedroom suite will cost approximately $1800CDN per month, plus the utilities, insurance, transportation and so on. It is sad that our nurses are leaving the profession. Maybe laid off Alberta nurses want to move to BC 😎.

GUYS ........ I am a Canadian who never lived in Canada - from Florida, I want my US wife to get her PR for Canada so we can move up there I can go the usual SPOUSE route but that takes a long time. I see a new program in BC to start with a work visa, then go for a PR Think she can do the BC job thing and get in faster ?

Canada is not what used to be. Not longer in the top 15 best countries to live. The UN Human Development Index, ranks today Canada as the top 16th--ish better Country to live in. Behind Norway, Ireland, Germany, Australia, NZL, … and just use place higher than USA. Hopefully Canada will return to the top ranks of the best countries in the world. Like in 2000. Read the UN Human Development Index, you will understand the metrics considered.

Everyone ranks differently. Other ones place us as #1, #3, etc. On the one you refer to, Canada hasn't been top 15 in more than a decade, so it's not really "new". Personally, of those countries, I'd much rather live in Canada for a number of reasons, especially having the most wilderness in the world, but also having some separation from other countries when wars are taking place

That was on the plan. Studying a environmental sciences degree while improving my English skills. When I finish, the requirements got increased to a master degree. When I was almost finished it, the new requirements went into a PhD and in the meantime I was diagnosed with diabetes. So I think there's something saying that Canada for me is only like a tourist 😅

@@MustDoCanada thanks a lot Matthew. But I'm also 50 years old. I know my best options are on running a business by my own. And that means a lot of money in Canada. Another way would be studying something easy like photography meanwhile get used on speaking and thinking in English. Then star to study something more difficult. But the sight got affected by diabetes and nowadays studying a career become a hard task. And, of course, there's the easy way. Winning the lottery. There's no country that say no if you have money.

Thank you, Karla & Matthew! The video certainly answered many of the confusing questions. But the more you learn, the more questions you have. 😉 I probably need to do an immigrant consultation in the future. But I'm in no hurry, I have at least 4 years until I complete my master's degree. One thing is for sure - the video is highly motivational for me!

@@MustDoCanada those people are desperate, everything is better than poverty. Canada is not the beat place to live. Yes, the nature is great and thats it. Housing is becoming like California, far woke people are crazy, politic is not good. Maybe if you replace your government it will be. Sorry..

@@Gromobran Fake news man. The #1 immigrants to Canada are Americans. Politics are better here than anywhere else on the planet. Sure, we have the weird right-wing mob pretending to be loser trumpists, but it's harder to grow that here since we have the most educated population in the world. Housing is becoming expensive in all the best places in the world. And that's mainly in Vancouver and Toronto. If by woke, you mean people actually starting to care about other people, then sure
