We’re Matt & Karla, a Canadian couple with two totally different backgrounds.
Matt is the “quintessentially Canadian”, born under the northern lights in Northern Alberta with family all over the country, whereas Karla is originally from Mexico City, bringing a totally fresh perspective to a country she has fallen in love with.
Over the past 10 years, we have travelled to 42 countries spanning six continents, which has given us the expertise to plan amazing trips and find memorable experiences.
In 2017, we decided to explore our own massive backyard with Road to 150, a 150-day #roadtrip across #Canada, witnessing the beauty and diversity of this country and sharing our experiences through video, pictures, social media, and articles. Since then, we’ve helped thousands of Canadians and travellers worldwide make the most of every Canadian experience.

CORRECTIONS: Our apologies but we made a mistake. For WEST EDMONTON MALL, we meant to say that the family who created it moved to Edmonton in 1959 but the mall opened in 1981! Also, it seems to depend on where you look, but it looks like Mall of America has now taken #1 spot for size in North America.

Speaking about parking at WEM. I heard about an older gentleman, not from Edmonton, who was adamant that he remembered where he parked his car. He claimed that his car was stolen. Six months later, he was notified that his car was found, right where he had left it parked!

Thanks so much for your very informative videos, my good friends. Your videos make me fall in love with Alberta even more! Alberta's own culture must be protected. I heard Calgary's Mayor as she was talking about getting people from Toronto and Vancouver to move to Calgary, she said that Calgary had too much Cowboy Culture, and thought it need to be replaced. That's the last thing we need. For people to turn our Province into what they are leaving. (If it was so great, they wouldn't need to leave). Western Cowboy Culture is Alberta's culture. For all those moving to Alberta please integrate into our culture, LOVE our culture like we do, and protect it from those who seek to destroy it.
@MustDoCanada
@MustDoCanada Жыл бұрын
I don’t think we have much cowboy culture. That ended a long time ago. I was born and raised in fort mac and there was no “cowboy culture”. It exists a bit in small towns but Alberta would be dead without immigration. Calgary is honestly a better place today (culture wise) than I’ve seen it. So much going on. Still quite dead at times but its becoming better than the other cities.

I think the statement about being able to put the oil directly into your car would refer to the oil pan rather than the gas tank, because oil needs to be refined to create gasoline. Putting oil in the gas tank would clog up the fuel system and ruin the engine.

There is a "biggest" in Alberta that you left off your list. The train bridge in Lethbridge is the biggest in the world; there are trestle bridges that are longer, others that are higher, buy there is no other as tall and long. In 110 years, it had shifted less than in inch! It's an amazing span of iron. Check it out and add it to your list. :)

Good listing! - You got Princess Louise's names in the wrong order: Louise, Caroline, Alberta. Not only is Lake Louise named after her, but the province of Alberta gets its name from her!

My daughter and her family live on an acreage near Sundre at the foothills to the Rockies, and they work from home. She was on a conference call one day from her job in downtown Calgary,, and had a family of moose come right up to the house. The big daddy moose was looking in the window at her. Just one of many stories she's told me. Why work or live in any large urban concrete jungle, when you could be around the REAL wildlife of Canada.
@MustDoCanada
@MustDoCanada Жыл бұрын
Haha that’s awesome. I mean, both have their merits. Cities have loads of culture, lots of things to do, art, people, events. Rural is mostly just for peace and quiet. Both have pros and cons. But also, unless you work from home, it’s not possible for most
