This is How I imported my Motorbike into the UK From Japan but is the same steps from other contries
UPDATE DVLA have changed the form but its allmost the same however there are now 76 questions and some of my numbers dont line up exact
so on the new form the ones you need to answer are
2-10, 17, 30-34, 25, 68, 70-73 but please check as you might be working of a old form or they might decide to update it
it took alot longer due to all the lockdowns
its easy and stright foward (sort of)

06:05 If you've prebooked your MOT you can ride it down without issue, the only sort of trouble to possibly arise from it is if you're taking the mick and booking an MOT miles and miles away, it needs to be a local MOT test centre

if its a Brand New Bike and not 40 years old you will have to pay import tax and that is a % on the total cost of how much it cost for you to get it to the UK, so including shipping and it depends where it comes from but it could be around 25% on top. witch why i only get old bikes

Im thinking of shipping a honda crf300 rally from thailand. Just wondering how to work out the cost of the bike as I will be buying it second hand. Would it be based against the cost of a UK second hand example, or just my purchase price in Thailand

Quite a palaver then, I had contemplated importing a new Kawasaki ZX25R for a bit, is it the same for a new vehicle as it is a second hand/old vehicle?

Hey mate thanks for the video, its pretty convenient timing as I'm looking at importing a CT110 as well so I've got a few questions: How much was the shipping cost? How long did it all take? Did you consider buying it from Australia as it seems they're alot cheaper? Were you inspired by Mighty car mods ;)

The shipping is all over the place and if you are doing 1 bike it's expensive you would want to find some place that can dose it in bulk. Or someone who is importing a van it's not free it's alot cheaper. This bike was brought to the UK before the shipping price hike. I have allways wanted one of these bikes from around 2015 ish when I found out about nathen the postman who took one from Australia and rode home to the UK on it

So what happens if you already own the bike, and it just happens to be resting in a barn in your country of origin? Do you still need to pay VAT when you bring it in?

There would be a import charge for getting it registered in the UK, you have to apply for a nova

That seems a hell of a lot more awkward than what I had to do. Even if you had the official registration docs for the bike from another country would you still have to go direct to the manufacturer? Haha I had the same thing with the seats, I wrote 2 cus it has two separate ones and it caused consternation. Also love an auld CT110 so well worth it 😁😁 I'm not a nutter :P I just occasionally do things 😂😂

Yeah you need a date certificate from DVLA very picky

@@BigPezza did you had any proof that bike belonges to you? I would like to get Jawa 50 scooter. There is a lot of them in cental Europe but most of them without any papers. Barn find condition prety much.

It probably be expensive you would have to pay taxes and import duty and as it's a unknown brand in the UK It could be tricy to get insurance on it. You would also need to get in contact with the company that make the bike and make sure they send over correct vehicle documents
