You do not. A good shipper agent can set up delivery from all points. My guy organized my fiat 500 to get picked up from a house in Rome. Then to port. Then from us port to a storage warehouse in New Jersey

Did you have any difficulty with customs? What else do you have to do to be able to register a cinquecento in the states?

The car was stopped by customs once it arrived, but then passed inspection. That stop costs an extra $100 The car’s insurance now is about $500 per year, with an agreed value of $20,000 To register it, depends on your state. If your state has title/tag businesses they can help you understand the process of submitting your Italian paper work for a US title

Hello, I wish I knew about this a couple of years ago. I was too busy looking in Japan and USA, they are too expensive for me. Discovered late last year same version, less hp(which I'm ok with) in Europe for much much less. So far hasn't been any success with the private seller. I'm with you on the dealer, I may have a better chance. Found a couple from the dealership, but they're all sold! I'm going up against hundreds of potential buyers. These cars were going for less than a grand. The ones I don't like are still there. Seems like a lot of people like what I like. Once I ask private seller for their bank info, they either said car is sold or ghosted on me. How can that be when 10 minutes ago they ask if I wanted to come check it out for a test drive. Why they get spooked when I'm the one sending them the money? It's very difficult especially when you don't speak the same language. Google translate has been my best friend. I really hate how I'm starting to see price increased through the shipping and the value of the cars. These new generations are no joke. There's been times I've thought about giving up but that nerve and urge still hits. How many days till it arrived to the port? Was there any damaged to the vehicle? My budget is 2k to ship but I'm afraid it might be in the high 2's or low 3's. It's the inland transport that killed it plus misc fees. I need to get it done once in this lifetime. If you send in Foreign Currency, there's no fee. Only through your bank. Did you pay Fabio extra to wash the car?

I’m not 100% sure, but I’m sure If you call a good US broker, they’ll be willing to point you in the right direction for free. As far as I know, it’s even easier to get cars into canada from Europe

You’ll have to do market research to find the right type of car. Use bring a trailer and other listing sites in the USA to see sales numbers of certain French cars.

You don’t need to do any conversations. Antique cars from any country can legally drive on the road with no inspection and don’t require any up to date emissions.
