I was in an international school varsity team in grade 10 and played football since middle school. I’m moving up to grade 11 and in my new school varsity team (public school), they have never won the region championship. I became friends with more than half of the team and the captain as well. According to the captain, next season we have the highest chance of making to the play offs and even winning the championship. I don’t want to sound arrogant, but since I’ve played in an interantional school and a footabll club as well, players r saying I will be one of the best players that will carry the team even though I didn’t join the team yet. The pressure on me is crazy right now, but I enjoy this pressure. I really want to help the team to win the region championship for the first time. The try outs are in less than a month. It just feels weird how the ppl trying out in my grade just wants to make the team and become the bench meanwhile I’m working my ass off to make sure I can be the best help for the team.

Hi coach, I loved the tips except the one where you say to wear shin guards and long socks to trials, I have been to multiple trials and never seen anyone wearing long socks or shin pads. Most of the time they just wear normal socks

1. Are you on time? Be early and ready. 2. Are you fully suited up, including socks and shinguards? 3. Did you say hi to the coach? Introduce yourself. 4. Do not chit chat. Grab the ball and warm up, with someone or on your own. Pass the ball, juggle, etc. 5. During the trial, put your best effort. If you make a mistake or lose the ball don’t complain, recover it. Good attitude. 6. Keep it simple. Coaches want players that can get the job done. Simple pass, good positioning, scan the field. 7. At the end of the trial, “Thank you coach for the trial. I really hope I get the opportunity.”
