Welcome to my brand new off-ice training series called #SkateWithMichelle. The focus of this week is PLYOMETRICS! Plyometrics are exercises involving repeated rapid stretching and contracting of muscles (as by jumping and rebounding) to increase muscle power. As skaters we need plyometrics to train our bodies to be able to jump on the ice every day.

Hi Michelle! I've been doing the stretches you uploaded a couple weeks ago. I'm so THANKFUL you did these! My biellmann position looks way better than before and I can now do the donut position too :D Thanks a lot

Hey Michelle, first of all: I hope you and your family are all safe and well in this special situation. I've been wanting to figure skate for a couple of months now and I've been trying my best to prepare myself for the next season where I can hopefully start with skating. One of the big struggles I have is which things I have to train on, especially as a beginner. Since quarantine I've been working out and stretching everyday in order to increase flexibility and core strength. For some reason I don't feel like I'm achieving the things that I'm able to achieve. This is where you come in (hopefully?😅). What do you think are the best ways to train for a beginner in order to progress as much as possible in the coming months. Some info about me: - I do have quite some scoliosis due to some things in the past. When training my core I have to be extremely consious of the way I train in order not to train one side of my body. This may also effect stretching? - I'm very driven, so I can't wait to be able to progress as much as possible. I won't stop till I'm able to achieve what I want to achieve. - I'm a boy (turning 17 in 2 weeks 😁). This may be a nice change lol. (Fun fact: in my whole country with 17 million people there are only 30 boys doing figure skating. And the third thing: I (and I think other too) truly appreciate all the effort you put in. Keep up the good work. You go girl!
