I kinda do believe this is true cuz I have tested my settings in gmod by maxing out my settings and it doesn't do much of a difference To the lowest settings It just changes the looks It prob does take away like 5+ fps with the max settings But it's less noticeable. I recommend everyone to try things out first :)

Correct remove it from list of files, there is no way to get them all back :( I wouldn't recommend putting them back as most crashes and FPS issues are due to too many addons or a corrupted addon causing issues

Sounds like it deleted itself i would verify integrity of game files and only use the console command or dont use it at all. That command is not for everyone as not everyone can utilize multiple cores of their CPU.

Sounds like you have too many addons, you need to follow the step in the video of removing all the addons installed.

This tutorial should actually allow you to fix GMOD not running. Try re-installing the game as well as Steam.

That is correct but the point of unsubscribing from them is to limit how many of them can run at a single given time, even addons loading in the main menu can affect your FPS overall and even crash your game. Deleting them will simply get rid of the physical file, unsubscribing doesn't allow the game to use those files to begin with.

@@AgentMk07 Yes you are correct! I never added it in the video because deleting it has no correlation to FPS or crashing however it can free up a lot of space. I also didn't mention it because if someone has slow internet and I tell them to delete all of their addons, they are going to be pissed at me when they try to re-join their favorite sever.

What exactly did you do? "Messed with addons" can mean anything. My tutorial would only increase FPS, it would not decrease it like your case.

@@romanianfps I was having errors in my addons on g mod so I went and watched videos cuz I didn’t know how to fix them I attempted to fix them and once they were all fixed for some reason my FPS went down to 4 I used to get 70 average but after messing with g mod it died

Sounds like an issue in terms of the amount of processing power the game is taking. How full is your hard drive ?

Because in general add-ons cause you to either crash or lower frame rate. Doing this method causes you to have to rejoin the server to install the add-ons. Basically making you only install the ones you actually currently need.

Then there is nothing you can do other than attempt to re-install the game or re-install your OS.

It was forced on there after I joined a server, I know its possible by adding it to the game files.

Re-create this problem and wait about 12 to 15 minutes. At the 15 minute mark move your mouse over the "cancel" button at the bottom right, can you see the button interacting with your mouse or does it give no reaction? Only then will you know if it is a problem with your game or server.

@@ramoramen Yeah that means the server is freezing, it is trying to download too big of content, or your game is freezing. Maybe look up the server and see if it separately links or tells you what content is on the server so you can manually download it. Also maybe attempt to unsubcribe from all addons and verify integrity of game cache and then re-join the server via IP address in the console.

@@dinosharttt Sounds like a driver problem if it’s taking that long to shutdown completely.

There is nothing you can do with the Mac version. With Mac you get what you get honestly you can't choose. I'd suggest trying to run the game via a virtual machine possibly?
