I absolutely LOVE these range increase videos. I want you to try and increase the range on bloody everything now :) you could try all sorts of antennas on all sorts of different radios. This is genuinely one of my favourite video themes. I can't explain why.

Great job and nice to see your local neighborhood! When we still had home phones on our cable, they were DECT phones 📱. I have a Retevis RT 97 UHF, 70 CM analog repeater, for a while now on 447.150 output, and 442.150 input, pl is set at 100.00 Hz. I use various antennas here at home to try it out on the air, from the 4th floor balcony, up 40 feet above ground, being on a hill at a bit over 300 feet above sea level, with no obstacles around our location. I can key it up to 5 or more miles away. It only outputs 5 watts from the 10 before the cavity. It is a self contained repeater, which also be used mobile or portable on 12 volts DC. I only need an add on repeater controller for id and cor. 73 de W2CH Ray. Thank your wife for helping with tests.

the church looked like the one used in "The Da Vinci Code" :-) so if you are transmitting on 4G?, then yea that's pretty good! giving the sight to sight needed!. now all you have to do is set up your own cell towers ;-)

So is your 10m antenna capable of transmitting a much more powerful signal? Could you wire in an amplifier to increase the range and would this be legal in the DECT frequency range? Also would an analogue amplifier circuit work just fine for a digital signal?

Suggestion , take the antenna apart and retro fit the antenna itself with lower loss coax , that way you can increase the distance the distance between the transceiver and the antenna ?

Whilst the RF noise floor is one obvious limitation, are there any timing issues that breaks the system just with the added propagation time - I know it’s not a lot over those distances, but as a duplexed system there must be a limit somewhere? Great video as always

At work we have been experimenting with streaming video over wifi from a moving car, even though we are using extremely good antennas on both base station and client we get dropouts when the car is moving above 50km/h or so. Guess we get packets in too much a random order and maybe that's what you experience when riding the bike aswell.
