That's a smart oil drain feature. I think I may get one on my cars. I change the engine oil every 5000km's. Watching your video, I just want to tell a few things I do little differently. 1/ before I loosen the drain screw, I also loosen the oil filler cap on top of the engine. Oil run out easier. 2/ I undo the oilfilter while the sump plug is still off. Makes fraining easier. 3/ I only ever use original oil filters, so I am certain that the paper inside have the correct density and the valve is also there. 4/ I take out the rubber ring on the new oil filter completely and smear it lightly with the fresh engine oil and reinsert it into the new oil filter. 5/ I fill up the new oil filter with fresh engien oil before i screw in on to the engine. Makes the engine suffer less. Some oil pumps etc. arevery sensitive. 6/ I always wear nitril powder free gloves when doing thiese jobs, as over time one may damage the skin long term. Not very nice. Just a few comments on how I do it. Kind regards.

Just installed my second one on my Santa Fe. The first one went with the engine when they replaced it a couple months ago. Really makes changing oil easier. I'd consider buying three for my bike, yes three, but ground clearance in already tight under there.

Great video, I love the egg-cent 😊 I just installed an F106SX, and if yours is similar then the M14 bolt that goes through the Fumoto is hollow and has its own o-ring with the body, while the body can move freely before tightening (this is actually visible in the vid, how else could you ensure the outlet is not pointing the wrong way afterwards?). Therefore, tightening on the body alone might be wrong, unless you ensure the bolt also turns 1/8. If you turn the body and the bolt stays, then you are effectively tightening nothing. Fumoto actually instruct to give the bolt 25Nm, and this can only be done properly via the bolt (hex or allen) and not just on the body. IMO you are very lucky if the bolt got tight enough like that. And yes, the clip is useful if installed in the groove, where it snaps in nicely 😊

Use a disposable plastic cup to unscrew your filters the rest of the way. That was the cup catches the oil instead of it getting all over your hand

Instead of buying an oil filter udder like others have mentioned, just get a shopping bag, loosen the filter a tad, then put the shopping bag back over the filter, then loosen the rest of the way. Best way to do it without spending $60+.

@Scaldie that’s a nice idea and then you can tie the bag off and throw it away ( all contained in the bag). Cheers for dropping a comment!

My suggestions: Wear eye protection, wear gloves to avoid harm (Cancer) from the used oil, remove the dipstick and filler cap prior to removing the drain plug (Or now before opening the Fumoto valve), remove and replace oil filter before closing Fumoto valve, partially fill the oil filter with oil to help eliminate or lessen the effects of a “Dry” start, use a funnel for adding oil, and purchase the accessory cap from Fumoto that fits on the end of the drain valve to keep it clean. Otherwise, I enjoyed your video and plan to buy a Fumoto valve. Thank you.

It is not recommended to fill the new filter with oil. It will not cause any harm to do this.
@illiyakuryakin3092
@illiyakuryakin3092 2 жыл бұрын
@@michaelleskoske7723 Many things are “Not recommended” by basic instructions, but clearly there are better ways of doing things. Not that filling the oil filter will make a great deal of difference, but there is no question that the oil will flow faster to the engine without the delay (Or as long of one) of the filter having to fill on it’s own. Why not do so?

Would love to get one. It would also make practical sense. However, working in a standard home garage with a standard ceiling height will not allow clearance.

It is quicker but ...the threads of the Fumoto stick about 1" into the base of the oil pain. That means that there will be about 1/2 cup of old gunky oil still in the pan, after draining it using this or similar devices. And over a couple of years that amount may become like sludge......YT vids have demonstrated this on these type of devices. Thats they only thing keeping me from buying one.
