Ben, I get discovering things in my solar power journey that seem to only get shown, after someone else experienced a problem or disaster caused by something that appeared insignificant to their system. Are interlocks required by law or for code reasons? Or is it just a fail safe? My Main is outside so it would be impossible to have a interlock

Thats what i need . Being offgrid myself . My solar inverter runs most of the house all the time . Except an hour in the evnings. I run the generator to run well pump and water heater . So I don't want to blow up my inverter .A must do ! Thanks .

They even have one for my old GE panel with the odd vertical-mounted main breaker! I'd love to be able to backfeed the panel, that would eliminate the need for my transfer switch. But I would loose the ability to control individual circuits. Hmmm...

NIce! I currently have a 6.85 kW solar array. I'm going to be adding battery back up also soon. Going to purchase the Sol-Ark 12k and the simpliphi batteries. I'm just attempting to wrap my head around how to do the critical loads panel. I have 400 amp service but it's split into two 200 amp main panels. I plan on doing it myself. Just the critical loads panel is my hurdle.

I had an electrician install one of those small disconnects, but mine had a little handle or bend in the metal to grab on too. I imagine it would be easy to forget without having this put in. Not sure why this isn’t good enough for spec though?

Hi Ben, Lol, every time I hear your Solark in you videos I think it's mine then I realise I'm not down in the basement standing next to it. I currently have the Solark feeding a 10 circuit transfer switch where I can chose what to power on Solar/batteries. I want to expand that to 20 circuits with a second transfer switch also fed from the Solark. I know the interlock is the simplest approach but right now my Solar Array/Batteries are not big enough to run everything in the house (200 amp service) for a reasonable amount of time. Do you think this is a bad idea? I'll never do grid tie and was planning to only ever connect a genset to the Solark GEN input.

If I understood it right, the generator + interlock will only energize/power up the "left side", so only breakers on "left side" will really be able to use/turn on. Is it right ? If so, is there a way where we can have both sides working ?

So I noticed that your kit came with zip ties, I got one that has some too, do you have any idea what they are for, my instructions don’t mention them

I do have a question? If I take a 30amp double poll breaker And put a jumper wire to both sides Will that transfer power to both A&B. Becouse I'm running my solar enverter on a 30amp single on B side . My generator is hooked to the 100amp main . 240v runs both A&B. Fallow what I'm trying to do .?

I think your interlock should run vertical. The way you set it up is not locking anything
